Very good. Short sweet an to the point, good presentation and supported by good art work. A solid rhyme included. Good contest entry. Great job.

A clever play on the meaning of omnibus as well as an apt anology for life. We climb on and when we reach our final destination we get off. But the bus goes on its merry way.

Love the pic of the iconic red double decker. It brought back a host of memories of London and the many times I rode the bus.

Great title too, another play on words.

The rollicking metre simulates the rocking movement of the lumbering bus.

What do you think about eliminating "so" and starting the write with "This" ? Just a thought!

Best of luck in the contest.

Stay safe and blessed

Julia

I like your suggestion and will take it up. I was ambivalent about 'so'. All good wishes, Tony

I like the optimistic tone of you verse and the way it welcomes everyone to climb on board the omnibus of life. We must all make the journey, so why not enjoy it and the passengers along the way.

So much. Amazing what a few words can do. I've always wanted to ride a double decker through a city, and now I feel like I have. Well written. Thank you for driving.

Amazing how 20 little words could transport me to Jolly Old and my ride on a double decker. I enjoyed your thought, and accept your invitation. - Wendy

Oh - what fun it was to ride a double decker bus in a London years ago - heading for Piccadilly circle to see Richard Kiley in Man of La Mancha! Your poem brought back these wonderful memories . Thank you!

'POass further down the car!'The title harks back to that wonderful duo, Flanders and Swan and their ditty about the London omnibus. They were referring to the earlier RT model rather than the Routemaster RM pictured here. Those were the days when you could literally catch a bus by running along behind it and leaping aboard between stops, and every one had a conductor who sold you your ticket. 'Hold very tight please! [ting, ting!]'

Ah! Those were the days! A rack of proper tickets, too - not the ones the conductor rolled out of a machine like a length of pygmy toilet paper. I couldn't resist stealing the title from Flanders and Swann.

And those tickets were all different colours too.

LOL Yes this contest entry hit the nail on the head. LOL I remember when we visited England, while stationed in Germany how I enjoyed seeing this double decker bus. I'd never seen on before. I enjoyed reading your poem and wish you the best of luck,
