A very well-written poem about our bodies aging and gathering all kinds of pains as be aches through the years. We come to a point wherever wonder if it is worth being alive.

Many readers will be able to identify with many lines with this poem. Because they have experienced, similar situations. This is good for everyone to read. It challenges us to be grateful for our gift of waking every day. People too often get taken down by the chattering of their minds telling them they are victims. This is good. Thank you

Thank you for reading and for your insightful comments. I felt sorry for myself at first, but now I'm just happy to be here. :)

I felt sorry for myself too. When I was let go from work, I was angry and depressed for 2 years. Then I read Eckhart Tolle who said, "It is silly to resist what is." I couldn't argue with that so since then I too have been happier and happier. I'm glad you are no longer resisting either.

It seems that most of the writings for this contest are on the subject o our aging bodies and how they see to betray us with aches pains and inability. :(

That's because it's a reality for many people. Not everyone though, so don't worry. Thank you for reading. :)

Painfully honest presentation of a tough topic. It hit home for this 63 year old reviewer. Good cadence and rthym pattern, and good natural progression and conclusion. Agree with your conclusion! Very nice poem, thanks for letting me read it.

The idea of time passing is one of the most laconic truths that we have to face. My father once told me: "I want to make things but my body is not responding as when I was younger". Your description is totally true but this reality is always hard to face. The hope in the message opens the door to life. A proverb says: "Wait for the best, but be prepared for the worst".

    You´re very welcome, Writer!

Assuming things look an easy taks but it takes time! But definitively, assuming reality is definitively the shortest way to happiness!

Feel free to visit my 6-word poem and, if you consider, leave a comment. I wrote it thinking about our "highs and lows".

    Have a great weekend!

    Blessings!

Very well written poem. Love your choice of words such a nice flow to it and rhyme scheme. I knew one day that I'd grow old my hair would grey my eyesight dim. I knew glasses I'd sometime wear and my body wouldn't stay so trim. Very nicely done enjoyed reading every word. ð???

I feel your pain. It sucks that growing old can be so painful. I'm glad you ended with happy lines about love and family. Healthy or sick, that's what matters and we are so blessed when we have it. Nicely written. Thank you.
