Your prayer form in the style of the peppered pickle is great, Helen. Great work with conveying your heartfelt message. I have not heard from Portia either. I did not know of the health issues of her family. Your poem reads well with a strong and clear message. Thanks for sharing and caring.

Thank you for reminding me to pray for our friends. I have a friend fighting cancer. Do you remember Douglas the badger? He died last year. We got very close talking to each other every day in a chat room. Even though he was fighting cancer he helped me get through my depression. He was an amazing man and friend.

I didn't know Douglas the Badger. I know Darren who goes by Brother Badger. He's just published his book of poems. I'm so glad you were able to connect with him. He was blessed to be there for you. Thanks for reviewing, Gypsy! Hugs!

Funny story, I chatted with Darren who aka Brother Badger and found out we both lived in Sacramento, before I moved to Pasadena down south, and we met in person. He is a character but very nice. Yes, Douglas was a blessing for me too. Thank you

Dear Helen, thank you for letting me know about Portia, and what is happening in her family. I had noticed that she had not reviewed any of my posts for sometime, but many reviewers are moving or grieving or recovering for a time; and are not active reviewers.
But when it's a health issue, and a serious one, we do need to call upon God's grace to do what is best for her, her husband, and her son.

Connected virtually or not, these thoughts are felt, and hopefully heard, related, and shared.

I don't think she has posted a poem lately. I enjoy her poems. The peppered pickle poem is very concise, but yours delivers a strong, uplifting message about loss and the Lord's love. I never know about
losses of members till someone mentions them in their posts.

Thank you, Judy! I believe she's had a very long battle with cancer. She just returned this year and then is taking another break.
