Nice writing here as you recount the memories of your life. I am sure that your children will love and cherish this when it is finished. I think it is comforting to have these memories to hold on to.

Your life story is intriguing. So typical and so close to my personal experiences as well. Not meant to boast, but I have built three corporations, sold one, retired one, and just gave the other away. I understand your husband's wanting to stop and smell the roses. I have raised registered cattle and learned much. I did this allowing my oldest son to run the business. I sold the cows and came back and save my business. LOL. I had three in private schools and one in college at the time. So yes, I understand the concern
Good one Beth. Love the photo. Beautiful family.

I'm impressed with your business ability. In case this doesn't get that far. I will tell you, he did retire at 56 which is pretty young and had many very happy years when he could do the things he enjoyed more. Raising cattle wasn't one of them.

Nice family photo. Good story. Smooth flow of words. Proper use of grammar and punctuation. Sad but heartwarming. Very touching. Realistic but a bit long

Thank you so much for the review and nice comments. Is the four stars because it is too long? I like to know so I can improve and get a better rating.

I have just given you five stars. Your story is beautiful and I may have missed some parts. I love how humor is incorporated. Like how the day-old doughnuts interfered with your waistlines.

So glad that you encouraged all the talents of your children. I was shocked that you allowed your daughter to balance your checkbook. I guess we didn't discuss monetary matters with the kids. So perhaps you helped Carol learn from that experience. My oldest was an introvert like her. I think it would be too deep a conversation for your husband to share his woes with her. Seems like she had to grow up fast.

Thank you so much for the review and comment and for catching those spags. I realize that I made this way too long. Carol would agree that she grew up too fast. The checkbook she took care of only involved household expenses. It think she was flattered that her dad talked to her about things but it was something she couldn't help him with and that bugged her. I see you promoted my work again. You are an angel.
