That's a very good definition of a leader. A true leader should be "decisive, courageous, unselfish, and tactful." Good syllabic form and descriptive. Best wishes in the contest!

This is a well developed poem. It becomes a universal poem. Who of us has not had to discern about their boss, be they for the family, company, country or of self or a combination. Do we feel lead and supported or belittled and sabotaged? Well-developed thoughts.

Leader is a short but poignant 2-10-2 poem that cuts to the chase of what true leadership does for the team. Dr. John C Maxwell says teamwork makes the dream work. Sometimes, leaders forget that they are part of the team. I have worked for bosses who thought their job was to yell at their people. Great job on the form and good luck with the contest. I like the message this piece is sending out there. Just because you hold a higher position over someone does not mean you have the right to degrade and devalue their effort. A good leader makes sure to encourage and inspire.

I think most people would list decisive and courageous when describing leaders, but the addition of unselfish and tactful is wise on your part. There have certainly been decisive, courageous leaders who have demoralized their men/women.
