This is an ambient write and 5-7-5 is not my favourite form because few people achieve an emotional ambient write with so few words, but here you have magic within these words and I think it deserves a six, love Dolly x

What a lovely presentation for the 5-7-5 poetry contest. The poem emphasises the picture and both together are lovely. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.

So true that winter can be a grand dame and bring out some of the most gorgeous laces.
This is a fine entry into the contest and I wish you great luck in the booth.

This 5-7-5, Shimmering Spectacle, has the proper formatting and stretches the imagery to envision the metaphorical ladies arriving at their coming out party. Fun.

Mystery Author,
I found this piece a sheer delight to read.
The visual imagery could have stood on its own even without the photograph. (The icy blue of the photo was a good choice though.)
Winter's grand soiree....
Come dance with me and we will waltz into the icy mists of time.
I really enjoyed this entry.

Comment from Wendy G
Lovely poem prompted by the beautiful photo and a creative viewpoint. Very elegant and beautiful. The syllable structure was met without forcing it. Well done.

Beautiful picture, beautiful poem. We are fast approaching that point, and we are locked in our homes. I'm okay I can write my heart out, so I am not bored. I feel sorry for the kids, all ages. I also feel sorry for the elders in nursing homes and assisted living. No visitors but hopefully they are being treated well. we don't really know, do we?

It's hard to know what to do during these times. Our governor is demanding we stay indoors, so I do and, like you, write "my heart out." Many thanks for sharing my poem and for your lovely praise.
