I like your sense of personification or animation. This may bring a shiver, then a snicker from the reader. Your metaphor is strong. Cat owners will especially enjoy this. Well described.

I don't own a cat, but my niece's cat always darts away from strangers and disappears quickly. Many thanks, Liz, for sharing my poem and your kind praise. Rod

Smoothly written! This poem flowed nicely for me. I love the picture too:) Your analogy comparing the snowy weather to cats is an interesting way of turning something innocent and beautiful into one with personality and attitude. Like cats, the snow found little interest in staying before it found something more interesting to do - which was to either melt away or move on to a different city. Good luck in the contest:)

Snow Visited today and I read it and I liked it!
This was such a gentle rhyme.
It was beautiful in its simple imagery. It was a visit....not a storm!
It was whimsical....like a cat....who walks with tail held high....and then leaves...bit by bit...
Yes, Snow Visited today and then left on gentle cats feet
Yes. I enjoyed this small gentle taste of winter.

I am glad someone likes snow. I was very pleased to see this snowfall vanish QUICKLY. It's interesting that you remember Carl Sandburg's description of fog. Many thanks for sharing my poem and your very kind praise. Rod

Dera Mystery Poet,
Oh, wow. I don't usually care for a lot of poetry forms - like the naani, for example - because it is soooo stinking hard to come up with anything good in this format.
Well, you dear writer, have proved that theory to be wrong-O. haha
This was magical. It began with the image (beautiful and mesmerizing!) and continued all the way through to the final line.
In just 24 syllables, you have created a mental portrait of that beautiful, magical time of the year --SNOW! The use of the metaphor really punches home the point in a perfect way. I can't imagine any entry that could beat this one. I'm gonna continue reading, but so far, you have my vote, and handily!
Thanks a bunch and good luck!

A very well-written Naani about the snow that comes to visit but decide not to stay for long like most cats also only come for a brief visit but never stay.

Good writing here for the Naani Poem writing prompt contest. We got snow yesterday but some has already melted. Good presentation with the picture going well with your writing.

Gorgeous artwork for your lovely, lilting poem. Cats can be unpredictable in their likes and dislikes. And I suppose snow can be fickle too.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.
Stay safe and blessed

I like the way you have incorporated some rhyme into this poem which is difficult to do with these short ones. We just got snow last week but it sure is not going any where. I love it and also the way you have described it in your entry. Great job.
