This was easy to read with such short lines. The words describing the idea of our supposed ethereal home rotting away certainly do their job of instilling dire loss of hope. "Scorched, savage, raped, trapped..." these are very vivid describers, and with the short lines, I feel that someone whose heart has wilted is saying all of this in a completely dispirited depression. It's like I just watched news from this past year or something.

This is such a power poem, and I agree with you. I'm pretty depressed right now about what's going on in our country and around the world, and it does feel much like "Heaven is Broken." I pray that God comes to our rescue soon.

It's fulfilling scriptural prophesy, and exactly as the seers have, however Heaven can't be dented by anything man has man, it's not trans-dimensional. He can come here, but we can't go there, unless touched by perfection. But beautifully written, man chooses self mutilation all on collective own. All one has to do is seek celestial help, but he likes to work it out, pride is a separation thing. But great free style poetry, well done, blessings Roy

John I did not take the title literally. How I saw this is as humanity is broken between waging wars, hate filled words and indifference. Humanity has created it own hell.

I agree with the last line especially, we are already in hell. On a positive note there is only faith in ourselves that will help up survive. Faith in God can't hurt, but God helps those who help themselves.

I agree with you, Heaven isn't really broken, nor is God dead. God is in charge and the Devil needs God's permission to do anything to us (I refer to the book of JOB).
