So, we tied in one? That puts me in pretty good company! I would brag about it to my wife, but she would just yawn and walk away. Great honor.

I really enjoyed this write for the 'What Makes Me Happy' contest. I think your parallels to what we are dealing with in the world right now are very effective. Best to you in the contest.

Okay! I just had to give this a six! I just had too. With all the companionship and complexities of the cat/ human bond....this took first place in my heart....
I'm not shi**ing you either

This is an endearing write about your beloved cat who provides you with good company and gives you some friendship and the world can be in chaos, but in your home there is love between you, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

A very well-written poem about the things that make us happy in life. The little things about our pets that make us smile when we think about their way of showing affection.

Lol. Well, even if you didn't let us know it was your cat that made you happy, it would be clear that this kind of relationship is what friendship should be like - overlooking each other's differences and continue to bond. Best wishes in the contest!

Nicely written poem for what makes me happy. While this might sound sappy what brings me joy is my cat. She knows nothing of frauds deception she just wants to purr on my knee. Good luck in the contest. Great photo.

Dear Mystery Poet,

hahahahaha Well, what more could any person ask for than that? I mean, it seems people do that last thing to each other all the time, right? So having a friend you can trust is pretty special. Thanks!

I'm pleased you got a chuckle out of this. I think not being shat on by a friend should be a compulsory quality.

This poem, An Example of Loving Friendship, runs the typical qualifiers for friendship until the end when both the need to pee in the corner is forgiven, and the absence of being shit on is acknowledged.

Pets love is unconditionally no matter what! This poem is sweet and funny. I think this line could be worded better:what brings me joy is my cat.
good luck in the contest!

Thanks for your comments about the poem. I wanted 'cat' to be an echo rhyme with 'impact' and 'fact'. I couldn't see how to word it better and wonder if you could suggest an alternative line to improve it?

I?m definitely not an expert, just try to give my honest opinion.
Most of my joy comes from my cat.
I get loads of joy from my cat.
    Joyful tidings from my cat.
    Joyous times with my cat.

Thanks for your suggestions... honest opinions are always appreciated. Your last 2 suggestions wouldn't finish the sentence properly, and I don't see your first 2 as improvements. It sounds blunt and it's not meant to. I sincerely value comments and to see what appeals, or doesn't, to a reader.

I value the same. I also respect the writer?s opinion. I do not change some things when suggested either. It?s a wonderful poem either way! Cheers and Merry Christmas to you and your cat!
