I had expected the little dog to be your new pet. LOL I am surprised he left, but dogs have a way of doing that. Once again, I enjoyed reading.

Connie had alway wanted to go to Disney World. (always?)

That you for the review and comments. I hope the dog found his way back home. We never did even figure out how he got out of the house without us knowing it.

This is a very interesting chapter. The night school part brought memories back of my many classes. The professors' opinions were always front and center re religion and politics. That is something they should not be allowed to leak into their subjects. The dog incident was weird. I suspect he had a mind of his own and decided he'd like a change for a while. The camp job in the Blue Ridge Mountains would be stellar and the experience for Carol in Florida too.

NB:
mine about>> you mean mind.

There are a number of missed words throughout and I feel that you
will find them if you reread, rather than me making a long list.
They are obvious.

Thank you for the review and nice comment. I did read over it again and found several places where I left out a word. I agree, Professors should stick to the subject and leave their personal biases out of it.

What a shame your class turned out the way it did. That would be horrible having to listen to classmates critique your story. We had a dog briefly too, Ginger A red tick hound. She'd sit by the food and howl when she's hungry. I'd say are you giving me attitude she'd howl more. Your chapter is well-written, interesting. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you for the review and comments. It is fun to have everyone telling you what they think you did wrong but you get to do it too. It is a way to learn but not not the most pleasant way.

About the dog. A short reward from the other side but only those born of the Spirit would understand. The professors of non Christian colleges are part of our problems today among our youth.
Always remember what Jesus said about those who love Him.
To be in simplicity, Christ is always present to the believers. He sent you a ride in the storm and made it possible for all things to work out.
Amazing God we have who love Him.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I agree about the professors. I have known a good many people who appeared to be very close to God until they went to one of these colleges and they lost their faith. I guess they weren't rooted deeply enough.

I've read several of your biographical chapters before and I continue to enjoy them with this one.
Your details make your story interesting. I particularly enjoyed the dog incident. That is fascinating that he just disappeared.
And I like the sleeping bag story. I can just see a family forgetting such an important item and then rushing to get it. What bad luck to have a flat!
Keep writing. It is most enjoyable.

Enjoyable slice of Life. A few spags:

Cars have brakes rather than "breaks"
Is it Christi or Chrisit?
College instead of collage
You set us up for a doggie reunion...What happened?

Thanks for stopping by and reviewing this and for pointing out the typo with the brakes. I've not been able to find a spot where I misspelled college. My daughter's name is Christi and don't think I used it but once. I'm surprised you were expecting a doggy reunion. It's not a novel but true facts. You can't always make them come out for a happy ending. LOL If I get less than five stars it is always a new reader. I wish you'd change it.

It's difficult to change if you cannot find the spags... I also find the narrative somewhat banal. That's the four stars.. John

You are the first to receive four stars from me over the last ten years.

That is fine. It won't count anyway. You probably shouldn't read long narratives when you haven't gotten the background. My regular readers understand what I am doing with this.
