Well done. No bones about it, you get right to it, and say what I have said, and thought, and done for years, (in my small ways). An acrostic is hard to accomplish, and you do it well. The presentation is good, with the photo of the person holding out an arm to help up the person sitting on the ground, rather than holding out cash, etc. he appears to be offering a needed help up. Help those who are able and willing to help themselves. Help those who are unable, as well. This should go without saying yet, needs to be emphasized for most people. You, on the other hand, seem to know, and I am preaching to the choir but, any chance I see to express myself on the issue of the houseless, I take.
My favorite line is, "Ease, if you can, their sadness and fear." This can be done in many ways--with a smile, a nod, small change, a bag of prepared food, an offer of time to listen to them, whether deep thoughts or chatter...this list goes on and on. Thank you for opening the door to a wonderful heartful thought to enter into the reader's mind.

Thank you for doing what you can to help the homeless. This is a concern I have year round, but it's especially important at Christmas that we reach out. A large percentage of the homeless are mentally ill and I have a son who has schizophrenia, so it's heartbreaking to think that someone who is ill like this is out in the cold alone. I think you are a wonderful person to think of others. I hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday. :)

Very poignant poem. I want to help everyone but obviously that is not possible. We wanted to help people have food and personal items so we made a large donation to our local food bank. It seems like such a small gesture but I know they can use it. Thank you for reminding us to give back if we can. Merry Christmas!
