What a cute poem! It fits the 2-5-2 syllabic structure, and the picture that accompanies it is perfect. This poem is almost like a writing prompt in itself. Plot bunny!

So very true, this wee poem. We never know what the person beside us is going through, or what desperate measures he or she could be planning...

This 2-5-2, Can You Spare One?, has the right set up and suggests that a smile can make things better for someone who has stopped seeing the good in living.

You have made excellent use of your nine syllables to convey a powerful message--stating a truth. There have actually been studies about the physical and emotional benefits of smiles and laughter.

[No study necessary -- just a sunshiny fact!]
    A second January nod
For your thoughts and the review
    As I said, I know I?m late
But I?m still so thankful for you!

Here?s some more New Year wishes
Along with cheers to last a while
Start working on your very own
To pen in your unique style!!

Another cheesy ?form letter? reply so that I can catch my tail and start off at least not miles behind this year ? lol! And, as I said earlier, we?re aiming for as many good vibes and smiles that we can spread this year ? the pen is more powerful than political winds: be not swayed from your grin! Cheers, my lady!! ;) ;) ;) Yvette

Of course I can spare one! Smiling makes you live longer! It's like eating one apple every day you set the doctor away. What is a smile if not enriching your mouth and nearly closing your eyes as your heart enjoys.
Great idea for a this senryu structural format 2/5/2!

A very well-written 2-5-2 poem about the effectsadness a smile can have in our own or someone else's life. We can just cheer up some stranger without even realize it.

A smile is free but could do so much for the world. The emotion behind your poem, I hope spreads like the virus. We could use more smiles during this dark time. Good luck in the contest.

If I had a can of spray paint, I'd paint over the image associated with your entry because I also entered this contest and your submission is better than mine so I need to mess yours up if you don't mind.

I agree with the assertion about a smile.
