Oh my! How did you survive? Your Christi sounds a lot like my youngest. So glad you got to meet Glen's father since they were so hospitable to Christi. Guess you'll let us know more...

Thank you for the review and comments. We were very unhappy with her going so far away. She was determined to go and I didn't her to accept his money and feel obligated so I felt we needed to help with the ticket. You will hear more.

Another interesting chapter, Beth. I am sure your children will enjoy this diary in the form of a story someday...and their children's children, also
I think we all know people like this;

" She seemed to feel the need to fill any silence with chatter whether it made sense or not, and she often embarrassed herself when she realized what she had said." Right?

Stay safe and bless you, my friend. Bob

Hi Beth, I love this. How come I have a feeling that Christie will stay in Australia? Maybe I'm wrong, but time will show. I loved this chapter as I do the story. Looking forward to what's next. Ulla:)))

Than Ulla, I always appreciate your review and comments. She certainly liked Australia enough to stay, but how well did she like Glen? We'll see.

A lot is happening this go-around. It sounds like someone was always watching Don, a very good thing, by the sounds of it, lol. I can only imagine what Carol is going through being a newlywed and still in school. Nursing school isn't easy at least it wasn't for me. They cram you with so much information so fast. I'm glad Christi had a nice flight. She sounds like my youngest daughter, waiting until the last minute then notoriously forgetting something. Me being the planner, her last-minute crap drives me nuts. I do hope the meetings between the families goes well. Your story is well-written, interesting. I look forward to reading more.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Actually Carol has a nursing degree and is working. At this point she is about to help her husband get into nursing school and basically support him while he goes through. Later she will get back in school and get another degree.
Yes, Christi, the procrastinator, drives me nuts too. I don't think there is any cure for that.

It had to be hard to send a daughter to Australia on her own. My Rhonda is a lot like your Christi. She seems to feel the need to fill any silence with chatter whether it makes sense or not, You certainly have a good memory, Beth. Well done. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. My long time ago memory is pretty good. Just don't quiz me on what happened last week. LOL

Christi's antics are hilarious. A gonorrhea ride across the Mississippi? Who could forget that? I'm struck by how different your children are, and how intuitive you are in seeing the strengths in all of them.
I bet they will love reading your memories, because I'm certainly enjoying it!

After reading this I could hear one of my kids say, "How come I need to give up my room for Bro and Sister so-n-so."
I can relate to some of this and can hear my kids fussing about so many preachers always coming to visit. But it all worked out.
Glad you have fond memories of raising your kids.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Some of the memories have grown fonder over time. There were times I felt like pulling my hair out, or theirs. LOL

What a pretty picture! It must be Australia. You had a very eventful life with your family, even though most of your children were young adults. I guess Connie was still a handful, too -- good thing you didn't buy her a brand-new saxophone! She was also quite a tease, too! You have so many amusing memories -- again, looking back. I'm sure they all gave you some gray hairs. Don evidently continued to narrowly escape disaster!

"Riding the gonorrhea," now that's a hoot! I think we've all had slips of the tongue, but that one is priceless. The boss must have been quite stunned. (At least you know your daughter had been paying attention in her sex ed classes.)

Some revisions for you -- some are spags, others are matters of style:

I have to confess, that I wish I was as good at being organized and punctual, as I am with words. I'm probably a worse procrastinator than your daughter Christi was. I missed a plane once, too -- but at least I wasn't going to a different country. Still, it was post-9/11. Air travel is tougher, these days.

I wonder how everything worked out between Christi and Glen, the PK from Australia!

I guess we'll see more of how things played out between Carol and her Glen. He seems to have been jealous of old Max, but we don't really know how old, "old" was, and I've often heard it said that it's inadvisable for a married person to form close friendships with someone of the opposite sex -- that being said -- if it's telephone only, long distance, mentoring, well I guess it's not written in stone. If the marriage had problems in its foundations, just about anything could shake it up, from who takes out the garbage, to what color to paint the living room.

Thank you Many Kay, I'm so pleased when you read my posts and I like all your suggested revisions. Maybe I can nominate you again. We'll see. The picture is the Opera house in the Sydney harbor. You will learn more about Christi and her Australian PK. Carol will be married a while. Their personalities were truly compatible, but they tried for a long while. I really appreciate you.

You're very welcome, dear Beth. I'm so glad you like all the revisions I suggested. I forgot to mention, what a great name "A Twin Down Under" is. I hope you keep your chapter names (if you also think it's a good idea), if and when you publish your book. It might be popular with baby boomers like me, who were also the contemporaries of your children -- it's just so full of nostalgia.
That's a beautiful opera house in Sydney. Yes, I'm looking forward to reading more about Christi and Glen!

I'll be sure to keep in mind that there are two Glens--I'm guessing soon-to-be-(ex)husbands, for Carol and Christi respectively. I can't wait to find out. Hasn't Tomcat Don had his nine lives already?

hyphenate accident-prone

Christi asked him if he'd had a chance to ride the gonorrhea, when she meant the gondola [COMMA] across the Mississippi river.

we owned with twice[AS MUCH] as it was designed to hold.

Thank you for the review and comments. Carol's husband won't be an ex for a while, and Christi tends to collect ex-boyfriends like I collect gray-hairs. I think Don borrows lives from other Tomcats.

Ah, Australia! A daughter off to a foreign country can be hard for parents to handle. It sounds reasonable that Glen's dad was there to also check you all out. How interesting!

Thank your Rebecca. I'll bet your parents had a hard time with you leaving for foreign country. You would know about that first-hand.
