What a cute story poem. Very interesting, realistic, relatable. Mine fell off at the Walmart the other day. Luckily, no one was around. It was still a little scary, the thought that germs might be lurking nearby. This is a great poem, good luck with your contest.

Some advice when venturing forth.

I treat my mask more carefully -
used only once a week,
when on essential shopping trips
for food stuffs I go seek.

For the remainder of the time
I do not roam too far.
My mask hangs there prepared for use
round stick shift in my car.

I think you must have been too rough
when looping round your ear.
Perhaps the thing was badly made
in India I fear!

Maybe you should go and buy
A strong one, tailor made,
which sets you back a pretty price
more than a few cents paid.

Designer masks, with visor too
from Covid keeps you free;
long ribbons wrapped around your head
completes your PPE!

You did a fantastic job with this prompt, dear Melissa. These paper masks are so cheap! My daughter-in-law and I were just at Disney Springs. She had three break one right after the other. I just couldn't believe it. Mine is breathable fabric and held tight the entire time. I've had the same mask for months. Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the contest,
Sal XOs....

Good Morning, Sally. I am so delighted you liked this response to the ...Use these words... prompt. I have had so many masks to break, that I thought it would be good to write about it and get it out of my system... LOL. Might as well laugh at it as anything... Thanks so much!!!

A very well-written poem written with the prescribed words in the contest challenge. The mask is a nuisance and never fits right and comfortable. I made my own sitting tight and still not broken.

Ha ha ha, a broken mask is no excuse these days and we always need to keep a spare! I have several in the car and in my bag! You just can't shop without one these days. This is a fun write with good rhymes Melissa, love Dolly x

This is a good one! Your narrative poem is skillfully-written, well-plotted, and so comical. This happened to me too--before I even got started shopping. I paper clipped it--several times while shopping. No one said anything. They were probably scared of me!

held on by one lone loop.
It flipped and flapped, to Christmas Rap,
sung by that hippie group.
' Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.
