Very beautiful and true stuff, we will survive all of this. So many people dying, not much we can do aside from staying inside and when we do go out PUT ON A MASK. It is just not that hard. Being a sewer I have made many for friends and relatives, masks that is. They are really easy if you are a sewer, note I didn't say seamstress. :)))

"So foreign to us, and as equally strange." We really haven't known quite how to cope with this. But you end with such a positive and uplifting message... "A new day is dawning, hope remains high,/we may be down, but we'll never be out." I love that thought and may have to paste it on my refrigerator. Your rhymes and meter are perfect.
