Thank you for the review, comment and help with the spags. Yes, treasures were lost. Our love letters, many unreplaceable photographs, some hand-made quilts and some of the painting I haddone. The important treasures like my children were safe

That's goof. You have got me thinking about the cover for the stove controls. Might see if I can get a lift to tjhelocal hardware store and look for some wood and steel or something.

That was one of the times in my life when everything went wrong at once. But as you say, we were all together and everyone was all right.

I am not sure about what I would have advised about the punishment for the little room. The person who was authority at the time should have been accounted for the mishap.
California was never my bag, so many idiots and agnostics.
I notice one place you used Evan's name but went back using the other. Still a good write.

I would like to read more about your travel. I like to travel and have many trips before and will do much more once we can travel again.

Thank you so much for the review and comment. That was a bad start for that year. I don't think it gets better somewhere. At that point I was glad to be alive. I've done a bit of traveling but not as much as I would like to do. It isn't as comfortable to travel as it once was. Especially by air. There is too much security to deal with and it doesn't feel as safe.

We owned a Printing and Direct Mail company and in 1984 The Reader's Digest bought us and we were with the company another two years. I know about the new management and how they glory in their newfound power, so I understand that part.
The fire was really too bad and I can see where Connie would lose a little self-esteem. This was a very well-written chapter as are all of them.
