I love that! LOL, I could just imagine that happening. My mum would probably say something similar, because like you, I'm always sitting at the keyboard. Well done with this really lovely contest entry. Good luck! :)) Sandra xx

This story, My Link with the Great Beyond, is a neat way of connecting oneself to someone so important we can keep them with us through another life form. Funny too.

This poem has a fresh perspective. I like how you weave current environmental problems through out this. I've been sharing this with others on this subject. I'm sure you will appreciate it: Most people don't realize plants know what's going on. I am a dowser and am very aware of energies giving life for healing. Some people from Vermont were learning this. They had a plant hooked up to something like a lie detector where they could read the reactions of the plant. One was going to CA and decided to try something. He'd think something painful about the plant. He did not say what it would be or when. The day and hour he thought of burning the plant, it went crazy on the graph. With your plant there for you...you will be okay.

This is so interesting. I've heard of studies like that. It is amazing and I'm pleased that you are sharing my my poem. I have always felt like there is connection with all living things.

Dear Mystery Mom.. er --Writer,
I was kinda expecting to start hearing a Jewish slant. You should eat more. But what do I know? I am just the mother. Am I right?
This was heap big fun. So far, my fav- but there are a couple more to read.
(I will come back if I vote for you and tell ya.). Thank you!

Talking to your plants has an honorable history (Prince Charles is famous for it) and far more complex than talking to animals, like that bore Dr. Dolittle. Mind you, I'd reach for the weedkiller if my plants spoke to me like this. 'It's how I communicate with her these days. It says all the things she would say if she was here. Like , "I don't mean to be critical, but please pay attention.' :-)

Lol! I like your take on the contest challenge! That plant is a spathiphyllum and will be hardy as long as it gets water. It's a great natural air purifier, too. And I like the scenario of it talking for "mom" stuff that I might say! Best wishes in the contest!
Suggestion:
Don't you think it could use some attention." (perhaps a question mark instead of a period here)

A very interesting story to enter this contest. They tell us that you need to talk to plants to make them live, but you have the plant talking to you, as if it were your mother. Like the way you ended it. Very refreshing read.

I absolutely love this piece. Your plant says the very things my mother would say if she were alive. I had a plant that I bought to commemorate her life, but it too died after a couple of years. Maybe because I bought a young tree that I tried to grow indoors. This is a well written and humorous entry into the contest. Best wishes.
