When we get right downtown it when mope is all you have, you turn to the Lord to be able to keep the faith that things will get better in time.

It is all you can do.

Hi Barbara. Your words are so true. Our hope has to be in the Lord... and we can pass that hope on to others too. Thank you.

Nice job with this 15 syllable poem, Melissa. Very appropriate choice of image to bolster the theme. I always think I'd hate to be judging one of these short-form contests. Best of luck to you with those who are! Craig

This work has reached the exceptional level

Great job of writing a 15 syllable poem, that conveys a message. Awakening hope in others penetrates gloom, discouragement, anger, sadness and on and on it could go.

You know what, I originally gave you a 5 star rating, but the more I think about the truth of your poem, I'm going to raise it to a 6 rating.

You nailed it. It is 15 syllables and actually shares a message. When I think about it, if a person is experiencing a dark season in their life, it is usually because they can't see any hope. It takes another person sometimes to awaken hope in someone else.
Thanks for making me think.
Great job!!!

So true.
Even we we are down, or grieving,
if we take our eyes off ourselves,
and reach out to help others...
it helps them and us.
Awakened hope for everyone!
Loved this,
blessings...

Hi Judy. Thank you sweet friend. I really appreciate it. I hope you all did not get snowed in there ... we got five inches here in Chester (3 miles south of Richmond). Loving it! :)

Melissa,

This is a dramatic poem in just 15 syllables. A light at the end of the dark tunnel is always a possibility to envision.

Best wishes in the contest voting.

Mark

It's such an effective use of the confined format of fifteen syllables to portray a sense of real and meaningful hope, however dark and gloomy life may become -lovely pic
