Congratulations on your win. Your poem flows smoothly with good rhymes, The animated image is perfect, too. I like the message that spring will be here in time, so enjoy the winter. I agree. Winter can be beautiful.
Respectfully, Jan

This is a beautiful and creatively written poem that adequately describes the winters I knew when I lived in the north-eastern part of the country. Your chosen artwork paired perfectly with the imagery of your written words. This is a well presented package. Best wishes in the contest.

Hello anonymous

Great entry for the Winter sonnet writing prompt contest. Nice presentation and wintry imagery. The sonnet form follows the rules of the contest. Wonderful descriptive words. I'm not an expert but I think your rhyme and iambic pentameter is well done. Good luck in the contest.

Hello!
The imagery that you paint in your poem is one that resonates with me as I live in northern Michigan, and we are always on the lookout for "winter's last hurrah" that can make an appearance as late as May!
As for the technicalities of your sonnet, there is an uneven mix of metered lines for it to be iambic pentameter and line two only contains 9 syllables; however, since the rules do not stipulate iambic pentameter, you are aok!
Also short lived = short-lived.

Best Wishes!
diane

Thank you. One of the reasons I entered is because there were no rules, except being 14 lines and rhyming. I'm not very into the technical stuff. Thanks again. :)

Well, that is a good enough reason for me!

    Take Care!

Your have submitted a technically correct Shakespearean Sonnet Rhyme Scheme. Your second stanza is 9 syllables. I do wish you good success in the voting booth, thanks for sharing

Fine descriptions here and I enjoyed the scene, the metre is uneven in places, this line in particular:

"Though the path to spring, seems a shorter trip,"

maybe:

"Although the path to spring may often skip"

I like your poem. The image is so festive looking; like it is snowing. Jack Frost does paint several pictures on windows; he also paints frosty trees beautiful when the cloudy weather takes affect.

This is a good write and I enjoyed your virtual snow storm in your picture. I like the cheery feel to this writing and the anticipation of spring is clear.
