Your poem speaks the truth. Time really does have a way of dealing with life's tragedies. Maybe never quite forgotten but buried enough for us to trudge forward and enjoy the future.

I really think this is a good entry for the contest. It's bright and cheerful while assuring the idea that time heals all broken hearts. You just have to give it time. I like the line "This too shall pass." my mom used to say because my mom used to tell me that anytime I was upset or worried about something. Good luck with the contest!

This is an excellent expression of a twist on an age-old adage. I think there is some truth to it, but I also think it is a way to give us hope. I've seen some wounds that never healed, and some that left horrific scars.

You are right about scars and those who never completely heal. But the more time that goes by, the less it hurts. Life goes on. Thanks for reading my poem. :)

My mom says this to me as well! And it is so true. If we look back there are si many things that we thought would break us but turned out only made us stronger. This is a wise poem. Thanks for sharing!

We have to give Time time to be our friend, to work its healing perspective. Mom's should be listened to - they often speak with the voice of experience. Your poem's words and presentation are very effective.

Time is the great healer and this is because we tend to forget the shock of someone's death as the hours pass and we get used to the idea, a poignant write, love Dolly x
