This is a poem of disaster. The damage to a person is horrible. You describe it as; "... beastly chiseled teeth and a bone pierced through the nose..."

You choose a good title; "Better than Dead."

I like this poem. Well done.

..beastly chiseled teeth and a bone pierced through the nose is referring to a cannibal ..

Obviously the only survive certainly would have wished to have been killed in the plane crash rather than be eaten ..hence the title Better Dead

    Thanks for reading my work!

You used your required words well. Your mate could have simply landed in the mud, but the chiseled teeth and the bone through his nose left no doubt something horrific happened. How long were you out?

A fun, scary story.

our plane was nose-diving; (remove semicolon -- semicolons separate two related sentences. You don't need punctuation here.)

Thank you .. I have edit

I like to believe she was the only survivor of the crash .. her friends didn?t make it ...

But like I hinted in my title .. she was better of dead ... the prospect of being eaten is worse ( biggrin)

    Glad you enjoyed the read!

This is a good use of the given words to the the horror of a plane crash in a storm. How come the person seems sure the native inhabitant came to hurt instead of help? He is just another human being dressed as his people dress.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

I?m not an expert but I read once that cannibals chisel their teeth ...

also it?s well known that deep in the Amazon forest ( like in New Papua Guinea ) their are tribes that still eat human meat.

Well, I didn't know either fact. Now I understand the fear in the poem.

I think it still works even if one doesn?t know these two points ..

There are a couple of films like .....The Green Inferno .... about cannibals and if you look at the promotional poster for the film the savage has clearly chiseled teeth

After the contest is over I will add the pic .. I didn?t put it now cause it would have given away the surprise element which I wanted to keep on the girl ?s fate.

    Keep safe !
