Love your wry wit and humour in this flash fiction, Sally. I thought for sure the double strength espresso would be enough to make anyone cranky, even though it's supposed to be a booster. lol

Excellent week of a blogger who finally did get that dissertation written.

Wishing you much luck with the Contest Committee. :)

Well, it seems that the protagonist just couldn't shake the blues. Was it the state she was living in that was weighing her down? I assume so since in the end, she moved to Texas. Maybe she lived in California?

Yep, there are different mandates in each state were masking and social distancing are concerned. My state, Florida, has a county by county masking mandate.

Texas and Mississippi just lifted the mask mandate state wide. President Biden called them Neanderthals.

I thought the move to Texas was a good ending for my story of the man who was tired of it.

California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois and Pennsylvania are some of the worst states where Draconian mandates are concerned. The governors of New York and California are being sued. There is a petition in California to resend the vote of the governor. I think they have collected enough signatures to call for a revote. Governor Newsom is also being sued by high school athletes who were not allowed to compete in their sports during this time as well. I think he's running scared or should be.

    Over it.

I am aware of all that is happening and I honestly hope the suing is successful.
I also think Cuomo is not going to finesse his way out of the trouble he's caused.

Barry Manilow--LOVE him! Your flash fiction piece is excellent--concise, but descriptive enough to convey your message. I like the dry humor displayed through the building up of day-to-day details. (You don't really thinks masks are detrimental, do you?)

I do think mask are determental when used for this long. Even with the shots, they are still recommended. Why? If they worked, then they would work across the board. It keeps herd immunity from being built.

Inhaling CO2 is determental to our health. Deprivations of the nature are causing people to over take antidepressants
and overdose on drugs. I know more people depressed, jobless, hopeless, and lifeless because of this. What is not commonly known or shared, is that it is 99 percent of COVID-19 patients recover.

I think each person must decide for themselves and mask accordingly. I don't think the whole world needs to be masked, and schools and business eases shut down. I think they need to be building heard immunity which is not spoken of either. I wrote this in humor today, but there was a lot of truth in it.

I don't go out very much because I have an immune system problem. I stay home and write. I had COVID-19 last year and recovered. I still can't figure out how I got it. When I got out, I'm always masked.

Sending you my best today and many thanks for the wonderful review

Ha! This was funny! Sounds pretty normal for a lot of people. We are feeling the separation and lack of fellowship due to the pandemic as well. We feel like people will change forever! Good pic.

What a very sad post dear Sally, the antidepressant seems to be a modern theme these days, although I actually don't know anyone who takes them, Aussies tend not to, or have therapists that I'm aware. Beautifully written my friend, blessings, Roy

Fresh air and deep breaths are so important for life, mood, and healing. Even I can see the scientific aspect of the harm masking is doing. I don't get mad, I write and jab with the pen. I usually poke fun of things I don't understand, and must find the humor in all of it. Thus, this flash.

Texas and Mississippi just removed the state mandated mask requirements. In Florida where I live, its county by county. I live in one of the largest counties and masking is required. Commerce is open except for movie theaters and art shows. Our towns annual art festival is resuming this year. I'm hoping the mask requirement is lifted soon.

I don't go out much anyway, but when I do I'm always masked. I hate it, and oftentimes feel sick afterwards.

Thank you again. You're a blessing. Miss your face and poetry! Hurry back!

Haha, well don't let POTUS know or his cronies that you moved to Texas, Sally. Maybe some of your long lost Neanderthal relatives will put you up until you find a place. You know Texas is B I G ! Your little story contest entry tells well about the effects of the on-going pandemic. I enjoyed reading and reviewing it. Best wishes. Love that song, too.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you for the wonderful review, dearest Jan. Blessings to you and to Texas. I read where pro-Texas actor, Matthew McConaughey, Is entertaining running for governor. I'm in a county in Florida, one of the largest, where masks are required. The state itself is not mandated. We are near Dizzy World and still open for business and schooling. There's much to me thankful for here. Still, Im concerned about this nationwide. It's not good to breath in ones CO2 all day. This is worse than air pollution in my opinion, and a violation of our constitutional rights to boot. Supposedly, the vaccine was to unmask us. Now they are saying no, yet again. I poke fun at this trying to understand. It is my way. Gotta laugh or I will cry.

LOL. Texas could be a bigger mistake. We are being overrun with people from all over the world thanks to Biden and his socialist crew.
Cute write Sally.
Thanks for sharing.

People are sick of these suffocating masks, and the over reaching arm of government control. Get this, the virus has over at 99% recovery rate! I had it last year and recovered. I know more people that are depressed and hopeless than anything. Thus, this flash fiction. This is how I deal with things. I write and poke fun at the obvious insanity.
Sending you my best today as always, and many thanks for the review, Ben.

All about money and Socialist take-over. They are fading us with money and placing us into bankruptcy so Red China can bring in their control. Biden sold us years ago so di his son. Idiots are about to lose the only hope left on the planet. Big Brother is fading away.

This isn't me, this is a humor post, dear. I think we can pretty much agree that everyone is tired of being masked, and see the harm that it's doing to us. This virus is 99% recoverable which makes no sense to me that we would be masked for an entire year and the economy wiped out. I know of more people killing themselves than have died of the super flu. This is my way of dealing with this madness, I suppose. Instead of taking antidepressants, I write.
Hope you have a better day!

Oh dear, you have just described some weeks I had when I went to work, I love this funny, day by day account of being in work, under appreciated, and each day rolling into the next like a rotten egg. And then I sat and sang along with Barry Manilow! Delightful, Sally, good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Thanks for the chuckle. This is a humorous day-to-day account of a week that had some elements of work weeks I can recall. Before retirement, I enjoyed Happy Meals and gave my toys to neighborhood children. How horrible to miss a call from a fellowship. I'd want to move also. Your story idea is creative and enjoyable.
