Thank you for introducing the Brevette format to me. I missed the post from Roy. If I was an English teacher, I think that I would make my students do a Brevette every day with a Thesaurus sitting beside them. What a wonderful way to learn to write.
Like any craft, writing takes time and practice. For some, just getting the thoughts down is cathartic. For people who write for others, it takes polish and editing. Then more polishing and editing. Then more.

I enjoyed reading your advice on writing and it's so true. I have done it all. I am amazed at prose writer who also write poetry. My few attempts have been a horrible mess. Maybe when I retire I'll give it another chance.
