If it isn't one child it's another, that's usually how it goes. I'm glad you and Connie are getting along better. Now to get Christi back on the right path. I'm glad to hear Carol and Glen are doing so well. That Don got passing grades. Your story is well-written, interesting from start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

In 1988, we were stationed in Germany. It's good to down memory lane with you because it makes me remember what we were doing.

Her best friend from the academy was still Valerie, which caused us to have some concern, but we couldn't pick her friends for her. (You can omit 'for her' it's redunit.)

I had a every night. (not sure what you're saying)

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I meant to say I had a fever every night. I had to change the wording there and i accidently left out a word. Thanks for catching that.

Lady, like they say, life can be grand if we don't weaken. Raising children is a chore for sure. Got mine raised and now I guess I've started over again. It has its good moments and its bad. Can't believe you can remember so many details. Not me...I have to keep reminding me who I am. LOL Smiles!

Thank you so much for the review and great comments. I don't have any living with me any more but I'm still concerned about them. They tell me all their problems.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Two kids still in the nest, and you're still a stellar mom! You always will be -- I know from experience with my own mother, that most good mothers never really stop nurturing their children, one way or another. I know you didn't want to enable Christi, and you gave it your best effort. I think it was during that same era that the "failure to launch" syndrome really became widespread in our culture (I think it applied to my brother and me, as well). I remember that around the same time, my boss at work was always complaining about her son, who was hanging on and not growing up. To be fair, there were two important expenses that were rapidly becoming less affordable for young people: housing and health insurance. But there had to be much more complex reasons for it; also, in earlier generations, there may not have been as much of an expectation that unmarried children leave home. And you did have one married daughter, and Don heading off to school again.
It was a great idea to apply Dobson's strategies to your relationship with Connie. He was very popular during that era, and is still an authority, especially in Christian circles.

Here were some errors I found:

Thank you so much, Mary Kay. Your help is wonderful. I remember the Failure to Launch movie. I loved it. Grown kids at home want to feel like adults, but we still want them to live by our rules because otherwise they disrupt our lives. The Disney picture I used on this one showed the parade they had in 1988. I really appreciate the beautiful stars.

You're very welcome, Beth. It's perfect that you used a picture from '88, but of course, if you publish, you might not put in so many pictures... unless you decide to add them, for interest; and then you won't need to put them in chapter by chapter, but most likely I'm groups, here and there (if at all). Blessings to you, my friend.
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

No, If I publish I put fewer pictures and probably family picture if at all.

Yes, that sounds right. A few good family photos would be just the thing!

Even though there seems to be problems, they are diminished, and the kids are rushing hesitantly into adulthood, I think there's one thing going from teen to adult is always a little difficult and a little traumatic, but obviously they make it. Well done Beth, blessings Roy
Typo : Dr. James Dobson had (advise) advice? 2;: you(r) were worried about me.
3: She'd gotten in (a) fight... 4 : The back of (the) lot...

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Life will get easier for us when all the kids move out. We will miss them but it hard for a lot of adults in one house. Thanks for noticing the errors Mary Kay gave me a page of corrections so I think I've fixed everything.

I laughed about your apology to your husband about him slowing everyone down with coffee breaks. Ah, traveling with family is tough! Again, I'm so amazed at how you put up with all these kids still depending on you and keeping you so busy and worried!

Some comments:
Dr. James Dobson had advise (advice)
like the hugh mistake (huge)
By late march, (March)

Thank you so much for the review and comment. Living with adult children wasn't so easy. They are easier to love when we don't see them constantly. This has been through the Mary Kay editing session so I think all the errors got fixed but thanks for pointing them out.

Nice rounds between kids, school, life as usual, husband, future plans, just another story that shows how normal people live. Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you see us as normal people. I keep telling everyone that, but they seem to think I have more problems than most. I think all families have problems.

I'm still enjoying your family's story and look forward to reading new chapters. This one is lovely and moves at a nice pace.
A few minor typos:
"Your were worried about me..." [ should be you]
"She'd gotten in fight on the phone with my mother..." [should be she'd gotten in a fight.]
"...By late march..." [should be March.]
