I was not surprised you were leading .
Every verse pulled me further into your
lively narrative ..
The parched earth has a drunkard's thirst.
A faucet groans from long disuse
as I fill up my sprinkling can...
I spy black clouds stampeding east
like thirsty cattle toward a stream.
are some of my favourite lines.
Apart the rhyme your analogies (?) are beautiful.
To cherish all its beauty I read your poem several times..there is so much to enjoy.
I don't usually give those I vote for also a sixer review but this is one of those exception.
I hope one day to write poetry like this .. taciturn by nature, I started rather late only 2 and 1/2 years ago but entries like yours inspire me.

I dreamed that I had reviewed this poem before but alas, I cannot find proof. At any rate, I do love the poem - a gardener's story of toil to keep the garden quenched. Enjoyed the allusion to Dickens and was happy the storm would come soon to bring relief to gardener and garden. Hope you do well in the contest!

Nicely done quatrain poem for the prompt. It persoifies the flowers well and mirrors our hope that sping will come and the flowers will bloom againg.

This is an excellent rhyming quatrain. I liked the Dickens reference as well as the "clouds stampeding like thirsty cattle." I also liked "a faucet groans." Very nice poem about how life needs water.
