Wow! Great job. Love the rhyming, the beat of the poem and the story of Penny Penelope Applebee. Wondering if that little girl was you sitting by the wild, big, beautiful sea. Enjoyed this poem immensely; should be published in a children's anthology of poetry.

Thank you for this fantastic review, it means a lot to me. I have 13 other Penny adventures if you're so inclined, I'd be honored to have you check them out. Thanks again. :)

This is the first time I have read A Penny by the Sea poem. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The imagery was lovely throughout. I did not a small typo, regarding the waves, as the rushed instead of as they rushed. This poem would be the type of piece I would read to a child at bedtime. Well done.

Very nice idea. Persevere. I'm glad Penny did. Sometimes the timing for people to write is best when they are seeking an inspiration like the sea she loved. Others, of course, write technically not needing to be inspired. Writers choice.

I'm more inclined to be inspired by what's around me. Of course, I'm not technically skilled, so in that respect, it's probably a good thing. Thanks so much for reading. :)

This is such a sweet story poem. Its cute that she gets frustrated because that's how kids are when they want to do something. A lot of kids take things really hard. I love how inspiration hits her through nature. This is a lovely poem

I love this! What a creative and cute entry for the contest.
This is inspiring to children who like to write:
All of her words had come from her heart,
and to Penny, that was the very best part.
Cheers!

Hello :)
I really enjoyed reading your poem.
It's sweet and appealing and well presented.
I particularly like how you start each stanza with Penny's full name! It's really effective :)
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra
For consideration: 'she had written her very first (first) poem down today!'
