June,
If you have patience beauty can show itself in nature and in life. This poem can be metaphoric for a child maturing into his/her own person.
Congrats on the honorable mention in contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

So glad you enjoyed this piece. It is a statement of how humans can be late bloomers as well. We need to see and treat each child as an individual who will bloom when he or she is ready - we just need to water and feed the plant.

Congrats on your prize, June! This is stunning--brilliant take on the white nun--elegant and graceful--lovely alliteration in PP. Glad I caught up to this! Cheers. LIZ

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this piece on the rare orchid that blooms only after 15 years of nurturing - that's patience!

You have a great love of flowers June and these blooms are worth waiting for. Orchids are gorgeous and always a joy to see, you brought their plight to life here, love Dolly x

It is a beautiful picture of the orchid. You are right to grow anything needs passion and patience. I seldom have the luck with orchids. They don't bloom for me.

Thank you for sharing this poem.

Your well-chosen fifteen syllables convey a powerful message about love, that it sometimes takes time to develop. It's worth the wait, worthy of the patience.

Wow to wait 15 years for a bloom takes a lot of patience. I like the juxtaposition of patience and passion which would be considered opposites but you bring it together here well. Good luck in the contest!

Most of my orchids won't bloom because I don't have enough light in my house. I set one in the window and it bloomed last year. Thanks for telling us about La Monja Blanca. It reminds me of the hate of the Flying Nun.

June,
This is such a spectacular flower; I have never seen a photo of one before.
Your poem's first line "passion requires patience," is the essence of the whole poem.
Love will bloom in its natural course, states that love will bloom in its own time.
It's a very nice 15 syllable poem capturing the nature of love.
Good luck in the contest,
Blessings,
Cindy
