The feelings expressed here are very understandable; there is both rage and grief, along with guilt at having to acknowledge such feelings. There is an overwhelming sense of loss - of a pain-free life and of the normal joys of living. Well written.

Hi,
Firstly, good luck in this contest.

Well... I was right there with you and know of this plight, as do many. I'm sure we all go through this thought process within it's journey.

Enjoyed the flow and rhythm of you well placed words. Overall it was a very good poem to read with no dead spots that stall.

The mantra that get me through...
Pain and suffering are inevitable,
misery is optional. -Lou Gehrig.

With our thoughts we create,
the pain to abate.

Kind regards, James.

This poem brought actual tears to my eyes. Im so sorry you have to live with this pain everyday. It sounds like you have a family who loves you very much and you have to keep going for them.

Poet,

Well, I'm not sure winning this contest will be much consolation.
I can relate to every one of your well written lines. Your poem/entry
is almost song-like and the rhymes are not forced and your
thoughts and emotions are so authentic.

"It's then I look to place the blame,
though many are worse off.
But spend an hour in my place,
you'll understand, not scoff."

Yup! I get it!

Shall I congratulate you on your win now or later?
Sorry for your place of suffering. Perhaps some day...things...life...your soul will have a happier song/s.

Anna

Wow, can I identify with your poem on emotion. I could have written it myself, as I sit here, hour after hour, with a cast on my ankle. I stare at the walkers going by and wonder why me? All I want to do is go outside and walk. It seems like such a small thing, but it's huge. Thank you for saying it for me. I truly wish you all the best.

What a heartfelt poem you've written. I understand about having a body that doesn't work like it used to or like we would like them to. In my case I need both knees replaced and though I would love to go on a long walk, I can't. However, there are other things I can do, such as write and read so many good poems such as the one you've written. I suppose the world would be a much sadder place if you weren't here to share. I hope you keep writing and hopefully things will get better physically as well. God bless.

I am so sorry for the pain you deal with on such a daily basis. It is difficult and exhausting for sure. i think you did a good job putting the visual with your writing.

I really enjoyed this. Boy can I sympathize(not empathize). For this could very much be talking about me. In every aspect. Sometimes I wish I didn't have family, then I could do it and not feel guilty. It could be worse though. And it will get better. Hang in there. If you want to talk ever to someone who also suffers every single day.... I'm new here, but if you want to read poetry from a fellow sufferer... look up Mysterrii on allpoetry.com.

Wow very descriptive and soulful words that explain how being broken feels because I've been broken and it's horrible. THE ONLY WAY to get out of and away from that
brokenness is to CHOOSE TO DO IT ON PURPOSE. It's hard but worth it bc it frees you from that horrible feeling and you feel stronger!

You're going to use the energy either way, for positive or for negative! So choose the positive healing way;-)

Thank you for sharing and many blessings to you and your family;-)
