I don't usually care for poetry, but this was good, real good. The cat sounds a bit like my great-grands, the only thing they want to play with are forbidden electronics. I'm still reading the entries, but this might get my vote. Thanks for a great piece

This is a good story that children can understand, it highlights the letter "C" and most importantly, has a happy Conclusion! I don't know if it's actually true, or based on a true story, but it seems like something that isn't fantasy and could actually happen in real life -- it shows that this family cared enough to find a solution that worked, so that they could keep Cedric as a pet.

Thank you for this nice review. It's actually based on my oldest daughter's cat Pandora(yes, they opened that box to a crazy cat) and the solution they came up with. Thanks again for reading. :)

You're very welcome. If you ever decide to publish it as a children's book (they have fewer words, so it's certainly feasible), you might have photos of Pandora a/k/a Cedric and the scratching post!
A friend of mind had a destructive doggo, who tore the stuffing out of sofa cushions, shredded toilet paper/tissues and even went so far as to chew up a block of WOOD! My friend's husband was rather angry, but she was more tolerant, and I was so amazed that I even photographed the results of his naughty chewing -- so if your family has any similar "evidence," you could also use those photos!
Pets can be a challenge, but we love them.

I enjoyed reading your fun contest entry, Mystery Author. You handled the prompt well. Your lines flow smoothly with emphasis on the letter 'c'. I believe youngsters will enjoy this. The solution is perfect. Yes, kitties with their claws can and do make shambles of many things. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Love love love Cats and love children's poems! This poem is delightful from beginning to end as the words just leap off the tongue when read out loud. I cant imagine a child not being absolutely delighted by this wonderful poem

This is so cute and clever! You used so many C's but its not distracting or hard to read. Its so cute and funny. I love little Cedric and I'm glad they made him a special scratching post. :)

Of course, having Cedric de-clawed was out of the question, right? Sorry, I'm more of a dog person, but your Dad was a true problem solver. I liked your story with its procession of "C's" and you also found a way to make it rhyme. A good job all the way around.

I enjoyed this story very much and enjoyed the 'sea of C's' and rhyme. I think adding some space between the lines would help with making it more readable and emphasizing the rhyme. Nice job!

Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem. I took your suggestion and spaced the lines, so thank you for that. I notice you gave me a good on my rating. Is there any other way I can improve it? It's truly how I learn. Thanks again. :)

You?re welcome! Let me think about it and reread it a few more times and I?ll look to get back to you in the next day or so.

Clearly your capture of this Cedric the Cat cautionary tale reminds all cat-loving readers to cater to your cat's characteristics and curtail cat-inflicted consequences.
