Oh my gosh...I so wish I had a six to give you, Beth...You deserve it and ten times more for what you went through. How absolutely horrendous. You must have been falling apart in a hundred ways. Glad you survived though! Smiles and hugs - Carol

Thank you so much Carol. I'm someone capable of falling apart over the insignificant. Amazingly when a real crisis occurs, I settle down. When Evan had his fall, I felt terrible for him, but I calmed down and was able to do what I knew I had to do.

It sounds like me, too! I have always been the one to get us through the crisis, but I am in shambles afterward. Have a nice day! Carol

The soap opera didn't wait for the wedding; it started at the rehearsal dinner! What an outright disaster! Poor Evan, breaking his hip on the eve of your son's wedding, that's so horrible!
And Kimberly and her family handled the invitations in the most tacky manner! You were absolutely right, not to print them with the gifts you wanted from each person, ugh! And thank God that no hot air balloons were allowed to fly in the vicinity of the church, what an absolutely hare-brained idea!

Here is the list of errors and suggestions. It's not a long one :-)

Our families had dined at each others homes on several occasions.

The rehearsal dinner was a very inauspicious beginning, but for the sake of Don and Kimberly, I hope that things improved for them, beginning with their wedding -- and that after that point, Evan would also be on the road to recovery. What a difficult time for you both!

I don't think you had such a troubled time, since you miscarried the baby, decades earlier. There was so much suffering and confusion. I think that after both the wedding and Evan's surgery were over, and once he was on the road to recovery, you probably breathed a tremendous sigh of relief, but that was still to come.

Thank you again for the review and the awesome help. I never miscarried but my two-month old baby died as a result of getting the DPT vaccine. I'll write more about that later because 40 years after it happened the vaccine company had to pay back parents whose children died as a result of the shot. As far as what happened at the reception I was freaking out until Evan broke his his hip. I'm the kind of person that goes nuts about small inconveniences but does well in a crisis. When that happened, I calmed down, and was able to finish the supper without being in a crisis mode. Crazy huh? That 's me.
Beth I'm thrilled with the six stars.

What an absolute nightmare! How inconsiderate of Kimberly and Don (alas, aren't all young people inconsiderate - assuming their parents would do so much?) I'm so sorry it happened like that.
When we had our wedding, we made all our snacks and it was a very simple affair at church. I can't imagine imposing on you like that. My in-laws did host a few of the bridal guests but - that was two people. I'm so glad you survived it. But poor you and poor Evan!

Thank you so much for the review and comments. My family seemed to be about to thrive on nightmares. I'm at my best in a real emergency. I get bent our of shape over the petty things. After Evan had his fall, I calmed down.

You would have been a super ER nurse. My nurse friends say the same. They are super focused and calm during emergencies but a trivial thing in normal life could really bother them. Lol.

Thank you Chuck. Yes, we made it through. I felt terrible about the pain, I knew Evan was enduring but after he fell, I calmed down and did what I needed to do.

Wow! What a chapter! Accidents everywhere looked like. Hubby forgot he was the cause of what precipitated his bad fall. One possible spag?? Or a term I am not familiar with?? Christi's dress was tea??-length.

Tea Length is below the knee but not long. It is a term to describe the length of the dress. I guess it is something to wear to an afternoon tea. Thank you so much for the review and comments and six stars.

Wow, Beth this is indeed an interesting chapter! Coincidences, accidents, "surprises" in the form of more than double the number of guests you were expecting!! I'll bet that was a rough day!

Hi Beth. sorry, but I would be like your husband with all that commotion and hightailed it for upstairs or down to the spare room or something. LOL

" You grabbed a coffeepot and a cup and hightailed to our upstairs master bedroom. You'd developed a raging headache, and didn't care to be a part of all the excitement."

I don't do crowds well at all, my friend. Good writing and accounting of those days though. Bob

Thank you for the review and comments. You men like to escape when there and leave the women to deal with the people problems. My husband was very uncomfortable with a lot of people around.

Wow! You could almost not be blamed for thinking that the marriage may be an unlucky one, an unfortunate chain of events indeed. What a traumatic time for you anf the kids, not to mention your dear husband, lying wounded in the hospital, that must be a terrible memory for you and hubby and kids Beth. Well done, blessings Roy

Dear Beth, you promised a disaster in your last post and you have kept your promise. Only this disaster was much worse than I anticipated. Poor Evan had barely recovered from a leg injury that had kept him in pain for almost a year, and now must go through a similar scenario with a broken hip.
I hope Evan did not hold it against you, For choosing to attend Don's wedding.

He wasn't happy at the time but I think he was more aggravated with Don for not calling it off. The recovery from the hip required physical therapy and took longer before he could walk. Thank you for the review and comments.

Hi Beth. My goodness, this is high drama if I've ever come across it. That wedding turned into quite a pandemonium. Everything that could go wrong went wrong.
The Wdding would tkae place as planned.= The wedding would take place as planned.
