Dear kapot, I think it wonderful that you have compassion for this most unfortunate problem that pervades our society today. But I fear nothing will be done until those in power decide to fund, some solution.
You have however, done something. By posting this particular poem. you have made every reader aware of how these people feel, and because of this perhaps they are willing to stand up and start advocating for these most unfortunate people.

Your words are 'mighty'. Wouldn't it be good if it were part of one of these Bills that they are trying to pass? Like, one billion dollars to erect or redesign buildings throughout the country that are made just for the homeless. They seem to have money for everything else.

I would love to see that happen, I know this may sound a bit wrong, but the millions we spend on other countries poverty seems odd when it is getting worse in our own, as always very much appreciated****kahpot

Everyone should have at least the basics in life; home, food, water, work, love with family/friends. I don't like the artwork, but it's a good choice for the poem. I like how you started. I would edit it to all the senses: See, Hear, Touch, Smell, Taste. Good work :)

Excellent use of the twenty words, Kym. So many homeless people don't even have hope in their lives. It makes me wonder sometimes what made them turn to the streets to live. Good poem and I hope you win the contest, my friend. Bob

This twenty-word ekphrastic poem is excellent. The words are well-chosen; the parallel-structure organization fitting; the tone, heart-wrenching, to express the plight of the homeless.

This twenty-word poem, It's Scary Out Here, has the required word count and notes the need to help our veterans who are suffering now. Good verse.

The author's words are clear, meaningful, heartfelt and creative. I pondered on the author's words and thought about those going through
tough times. The poem is emotional and bring one to have gratitude.
The artwork work is sad and compliments these words.

Kym,
I love your 20 word poem/entry - Each line beginning with "I"
I see, I hear, I feel, I beg, I wait. Wow! I like how you have used
the word "structure" for housing and even more...meanings.
This is a super compassionate post, well written and well
presented. Creative too.
Over in our country I have already coined the term "Biden Boxes"
You heard it here first.
Best wishes in the contest,
AnnaLinda

This 20 word poem is profound. Homelessness is a huge problem, that is not being properly addressed, especially these days. This contest entry touched my heart, best of luck. :)
