A racial problem is a curse today. It happens in America and it is happening in all parts of the world. Yes, we blame the police when in fact they are trying to do their best. Thanks for sharing this poem.

    Thank you, sir.
The problem is, the racial problem was being helped tremendously by the past President's actions - ask anyone- but now, with the help of Al Sharpton, the Radical Left is determined to misinform, stir up trouble and divide this country. And the police have their hands tied because they're either being defunded are having their headquarters burned down. an intolerable situation.

A racial problem is not only in America but everywhere in the world. Same in my country, India, and other parts of the world.
reply by the author on 28-Apr-2021
I'm sure that is true. And it is wrong.
I am just speaking of the fast change in my country from a fair minded president who made changes, helping the blacks and other minorities, and this idiot president who is ruining my country in a few short months.

As with all poems, this one gives your opinion and voice expression. I would love to see the "counterpoint" poem expressed next to this one. The BLM movement certainly goes far deeper than what has been expressed here. It would take tomes to adequately represent what BLM truly means anyway, especially to the African-Americans in our country, who are epigenetically bound to the scars of their ancestors. I think Martin Luther King, Jr. had it right when he said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." So, in that regard, hatred towards the police is NOT the way to end the madness, violence, and racism that permeates the pores of our society. We need to appreciate the strengths of one another, and to realize that we are all more alike than we are different. I have so many law enforcement friends throughout the US, who embrace diversity in their relationships and lives. There are more good cops than bad ones, but the bad ones seem to grab the limelight every time. Anyway, I digress. Thank you for sharing!

That is your opinion of BLM. I have read and learned about it's base and, not disparaging those in Africa, what they stand for here and have proven by their actions time and time again, seems to be self explanatory.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

As long as they are raising billions of dollars, why do they need to care about what is ahead? But trust me, justice will prevail and they will not.
If BLM why haven't they donated the money they raised to eliminate the murders and shootings in the black communities, each weekend. Where is the money going? In ads? Give me a break. How long will the befuddled minds endure the lies? Your poem tells it all, well.

Thanks Ralf. It beats me. I think they just want to make people dissatisfied, they want to change the way Americans think - white supremacy, America is bad - black is white and white is black. The Marxists do have a plan. And seems I cant keep my mouth shut, but thank you for your encouragement!!!!

This is an interesting poem. I've read the other reviews and I hope I can come across as honestly as possible. I too share the anger of watching our cities burn, of politicians pander and of school officials teach our children that if they are the wrong color, they are racist and privileged. In makes my blood boil. When I am able to watch the news, it's been my observation that the majority of the crowd at BLM rallies are young white kids. I don't know if they feel bad because they are white or if they've drank the kool-aid that has been force fed to them in the education system or if it's just fun to be a part of a movement that involves looting and burning. I'm not a religious scholar, but I do know a little about the word, and I know that whether or not anyone wants to believe in Lucifer or Satan or the devil, my personal belief is that he's very real, and he is the father of lies and is at the forefront of all the chaos on the earth. He wants to separate families, he wants to turn people against God and do all he can to create havoc. The bible says- The thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. He has effectively divided us as a country along racial, ethnic, religious and political lines. He might use George Sorros, or Joe Biden or Al Sharpton or whomever, but they are just tools. I know that there has been oppression of the black community in the past. I also know that this country fought a civil war over the enslavement of blacks. The police don't go into a black community looking to arrest someone. Usually it is because there is a crime that is being or has been committed that they are called. There has been a breakdown in the family unit that has resulted in a high crime rate, I believe in large part because of government interference back in the sixties. Prior to that, there were more white families without a father at home. My personal feeling is if we were to encourage family units to stay together, there would be less crime in all of our communities. I know many people don't agree with me, but until we return to the principals upon which this country was founded, I think we're going to continue to see a breakdown of society and I fear that another civil war could be in our future. Sorry for the long winded dissertation. Have a good night.

well, I think you are right on the money. Encouraging the family unit. also teaching love of our country where young people have the the freedom to become whatever they want if they work hard to become it. My sister and daughter firmly believe as you do that the devil is at play, here, wreaking havoc, causing unrest.
It didn't help that Fauci kept people out of church when they needed most to be there, either.
Don't apologize for the length of your post-or content.
Differing and/or agreeing opinions is what I hoped for.
Thank you for taking the time and interest to write yours.

PS, I have seen white kids at the protests, too, but doing the burning and looting - it seemed to me - were mostly blacks.

Absolutely 100% agree with all you have stated in this poem. I'm so distraught by the state of our country today, but I stand by the police and all they do for us. Thanks for these wise words. :)

well, bless you! As you can imagine, I've gotten mixed reviews and really not very many. I guess they don't agree and maybe don't want to argue.
But I am with you, and I can't just sit by and not say something.
Honestly, I do not understand Americans acting this way. In my opinion, they are not Americans.
Thank you so much for the 6!!! Really appreciate it.

You have made some good points, but I do not totally agree with this. Not because I am black. If you commute to different countries of the world (and of course from what we all read in the news, even in history), you will get to know about how bad racism has had its toll on us all. I'm pretty well aware that you know. Yes, the time used in the campaigns could be used to learn some good skills, but what about the future of "Black" in different countries of the world if the advocacies and campaigns are not made now. Yes, there are bad blacks, those who are hiding under the guise of the BLM to perpetuate crime, but these are in the minority. Until the world learns to respect and judge an individual not by their skin color but what one can actually do, then these movements will not stop. It is for the betterment of humanity. I am not in any way in support of the hideous crimes blacks may have committed under the guise of wahtever, but let's call a spade a spade. Blessings!

Well, I admit, my concern is mainly for my own country. Not others right now in this regard. We are being torn apart on purpose, using the race card to fan the flames, pit people against each other, and it is seemingly every minute of the day in the news.
And I think rather than trying to help solve any problems, this administration is ignoring it. VP Kamala was appointed in charge of the border. Has she set foot down there? Has Biden? President Trump had many blacks and black women in very important positions - capable, intelligent women, patriotic women.
Riots, looting, burning and defunding police will not solve anything, and calling people racists, who are not, does nothing but divide.
    Blessings to you, too.

This shall certainly aroused some comment. As a white mom whose black son was stopped every time he drove my car, because he looked suspicious, I understand why people of color sometimes can't take it. But he succeeded in graduating from an Ivy League university and is now home after working in China. My other child of color is getting her masters in social work, but I never would have thought we would see this day ten years ago when she was a rebel. They have to believe they can succeed and I had hoped BLM would help them toward. I never suspected they wanted to get rid of the police.

You're right. It has, though so far, mostly encouraging comments. Not all, of course.
School kids have been fed all this misinformation purposely to divide this nation. My own beloved granddaughter was indoctrinated before we knew what was happening. I am sorry about your son having been treated unfairly. I am angry at these instigators deliberately fanning the flames, unfairly branding this country, and turning citizen against citizen. And not only that - family members against each other. Soros has spent billions causing unrest, dividing us. We need to fight back. Elect people who love America and what it stands for, not people who want to turn it into a socialist country - and screaming racist at people who have never been racist in their lives is driving the proverbial wedge. As is defunding the police and rioting.

Pome,

Since you are not black and neither am I, we cannot possibly know what it's like to grow up being stopped by police repeatedly because of the color of your skin. Police can be our friends and the friends of people of color when they treat all equally. Across the board, that is not happening. Even those who have jobs and contribute to society suffer humiliation and type-casting throughout their lives. That's why they're angry. Many times blacks are treated differently than whites. It creates a tumultuous situation. Many demonstrate peacefully.

When women were trying to get equality, the woman's movement took on violence to get action. Sometimes there's no other way to get people to listen. Without a fight, they would still be slaves. We cannot imagine their lives, so we must be careful to not minimize their suffering and blame senseless deaths as their own fault. They should keep quiet and not fight back. NO!

I'm glad they are fighting. I'm glad racist remarks and attitudes can destroy careers. It must stop.

okay, Patricia, I see your point, and that is a problem, but Americans as a whole are not racists. America is not a racist country and I am sick and tired of us being branded that way by the media and some in power. And, yes, there are some bad cops, but there are more bad politicians! I say, let's get rid of them. BUT, back to your point - the majority of police are good cops who in many cities have their hands tied, in fact, take the city of Los Angeles for example, their mayor has said they're like the KKK. And yet, the self important movie stars and big shots have their private protection personnel, walls and guns, while their crime rate has gone up 100% since last month! I don't know if you've noticed, but the only killings the press reports (on the whole) are the few blacks killed by white police. But every day of the world there are shootings and stabbings - blacks killing blacks that don't get coverage.
With the way leaders of some of our biggest cities not only don't support their own police, but vilify them, I don't blame the many who are retiring early or just quitting. The big- mouth dividers of this country are promoting this unrest just as they are promoting racism. No, I'm not black, but even teachers are teaching OUR KIDS to be ashamed of being white, that America is racist. And I, for one have had enough!
reply by samandlancelot on 25-Apr-2021
It's never good to blame an entire group of people for what a few do. The press also did not cover peaceful demonstrations by BLM (93% of their demonstrations) because it doesn't attract viewers. Everyone suffers when the truth is skewed to draw viewers to news programs.

BLM do present a problem. They don't see it as a crime if Blacks steal or destroy property. After all, they're entitled. I don't know when it's going to end, but most of the Black lawmakers are egging them on. Maybe they wouldn't be at risk for being shot while resisting arrest if they don't engage in criminal activity. As you suggest, they should be turning to work instead of spending their time protesting. The politicians won't speak the truth about the causes of violence in the Black neighborhoods. You're done a great job of addressing the problem. judi

You're welcome. I just read that reviewer's remarks. Sounds to me like she is okay with the violent protests. That's not the way people did things during Martin Luther King's time. I taught in a largely black high school at the time, and the students conducted themselves with dignity. They didn't go rampaging about. As for being stopped by the police, anyone can get stopped by the police. I've been stopped for speeding violations. If they get stopped, the best thing to do is cooperate. You can't reason with people like that reviewer. judi

though I won't do it, I'd love to show her your remarks about teaching in the black high school around MLK"s time and how they conducted themselves with dignity and didn't go rampaging around. I did, as you probably saw, respond.
reply by judiverse on 26-Apr-2021
You're welcome to show her. It was a different time. The students knew they were expected to do something if they wanted to succeed. They didn't make excuses, like the Black students today do. judi
