The last months of that year were much better than many previous months. I'm glad you had an enjoyable Christmas with no health issues or other problems. I has been a lovely chapter to read, and well-written, Beth.

Hi Beth, again I enjoyed this chapter and as usual a lot is going on. I was amused about the wine. Here in Spain where I live, it's common to have a glass of wine or two with our meal. It's just the way of life. Now to the Gulf. My husband and I were involved in that. My husband was in the Navy. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the review and comments. I have no problem with wine in moderation. I had it when I was in Europe, and I know it is even served to minors in France. My mother's brothers grew up making their own booze, and five of the became alcoholics which led to early deaths. Mom hated it so she allowed no alcohol in our home. Evan wasn't raised with it either. Here you have to be over eighteen to drink, and Connie was still a minor. Kimberly now has become an alcoholic, although she is no longer married to my son. So I had reasons for my objections. Maybe it is so common in Europe that no one drinks too much. LOL

That's the point. We drink in moderation and for the enjoyment with the food. It's a tradition. Not to misuse it. I'm sorry you had bad experience with it. :)))

the saga of your family was a little less rocky this time...maybe it was the season. I must admit I like a glass of wine now and then with company or since Mike passed I've sat on the deck and toasted our love...Silly but it made me feel like he was there. Enjoyed hearing about your family as always. Smiles, Carol

I have no problem with a little alcohol for those who can handle it without going over board. Alcoholism ran in my mother's family and five of her brothers died young because of it, so she hated it in form.
I've known to many sloppy drunks over the years. lol 1990 was a memorable year but I'm glad it ended on a good note.

My half-brother is the only alcoholic I've known, and yes, it's a shame. But since he didn't want to help my mother, we never saw him?a blessing in disguise.

Things are progressing more or less as the life of a youth will allow and seems to be fine, although Even continues to have health problems. Life is proving expensive for Connie, but she's trying to keep up with the Jones's. Well done Beth good to hear from you. Well done, blessings Roy
Typo : When Lenny was home from (collage) college?

We don't allow alcohol in our house either. Some of our boys drink, but respect our wishes when they're home and when we visit them. I always enjoy reading. Please keep up the good work.
