I accidentally found this chapter...don't know why I wasn't notified. Anyway, I like this chapter. Some phrases I liked. "pancaked road of travelers" and "Billy goat of a beard."
Some concerns: "I took a spill from the rear of the horse and landed on my rear." It's a little awkward having rear twice. What about...[I took a spill from the horse and landed on my rearend]
"I looked into his moist eyes and kissed him." Is her husband's eyes filled with tears, because all eyes are moist? I suffer from dry eyes because healthy eyes are suppose to be moist. What about, [his teary eyes]

And I love your John 3:8 Great chapter.

Hello Stan.

This is an outstanding ending for the story. Husband and wife had been reunited and she has survived an ordeal that so many people don't, or didn't survive. She has shown herself to be a very strong woman. The reunion hug between man and wife brings out the passion involved between the two of them. That really stands out.

Again, your descriptive narrative makes the story easy to read and gives insight into all of the characters, not just the key ones.

Robert

"Winds of Change" comes to a very pleasant ending but certainly Jane's future life is in our thoughts too. This last chapter is a fine one for this story. Well done.

As a father of two girls and a grandfather to one, I can say any father would be angry if his daughter committed suicide because of unrequited love. You spoke the truth writing in that old 1970s mantra, "make love not war." Beautifully written Dear friend, I enjoyed the whole series. It seems you've got a sequel to this, with Jane becoming a negotiator. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : there was (a) lingering smell...2 : Bolt of (lightening) one lightens a load, while lightning strikes. 3 : you brough(t) twenty horses.

You pinned an interesting story. Sorry I have been out of pocket for a bit. I do not have a six, or you would get it. I admire the way you can write from the female perspective, something I could never do. My personal experience of trapping out the Blue Water Canyon with the Navajo gives me the right feelings toward my write as though it is personally part of my life. You are to be commended for your talent. Do not stop sharing this talent. I can only hope somewhere, and someone would appreciate it enough to make a movie. I assure you, it is Hallmark worthy.

Thanks Ben! You know how to encourage me in the right time and place. I've been on a bit of a down cycle and haven't posted much. But you help fuel that desire to go all in on trying get published again! Blessings around the writing bend!!!

I will never give up on the idea that someone out there who appreciates American History, especially western folklore or other aspects concerning such, would not appreciate a good solid clean write to produce into a good wholesome movie. Your work fits into that arena. Remember, Jesus said only a few find their way into the Kingdom. A solid wholesome novel is much like His parables. Many never understood them either, but those who did were justified with good feelings of success.

I'm sorry I jumped in at the end of this. I love the genre and would like to have read it from the beginning. This chapter does stand on it's own, but a cast of characters in your author's notes would help people like me. Good luck getting it published.

Stan,

Nice job! Mrs. McCord has had an amazing, terrifying journey/adventure, but has come away less bitter and more wise. That's a very cool way to end her journies.

Notes:
1.) We took off like a bolt of (lightning) across the open prairie.

2.) "It's my fault," (h)e said. "I should have stayed with you."

3.) "Nothing is worth more to me than you," (h)e said.

Congrats on completing the story! The six is for your dedication and hard work!

This was a truly beautiful story. I have enjoyed all of it. It the beginning I wondered why you chose to write it from a woman's perspective, but this was perfect. You did amazingly well with that perspective and brought it to great conclusion. Thank ;you for sharing this story with us.

Nice to catch up with this--it's been awhile--I missed all the excitement of her capture. This scene is masterfully rendered, stunning reunion rings true to cricumstances!
