This is a lovely presentation. The well chosen picture goes well with your writing and the scene unfolds in a lovely irony of rain. Best to you in the contest.

"Sprinkling unsparingly". That choice of words alone gives a great mental image! Your graphic is beautiful, and I enjoyed your writing, which followed the syllable count perfectly! Great job!

That's a really pretty picture to go with your poem that doesn't have a rhyme. Good luck on this contest. You did a great job following the writing prompt.

When drought season comes around for many places, praying for rain is about all you can do. You can do a rain dance. You could howl at the moon, but I doubt it would help. Of course, stranger things have happened. Sorry for being silly. I love the picture. Good luck with the contest.

I love how much imagery you out into the poem! I could picture the girl walking as flowers are moving, the black clouds gathering etc.. It was a nice and sweet poem!

Ha, those flowers look remarkably healthy if they are in the middle of a drought, which is what the poem suggests! To rub it in, we are in winter here and in the midst of a longish spell of rain!
You tackled the form well, although you may have broken the rule about complete statements in each line.

I truly appreciate your comments, Steve, and I must confess I did not read all the contest requirements. I wish we could get SOME of the rain you?re getting.

This is a great entry for the contest. I lobe the image of the little girl trying to save natural beauty and hoping for help with the task. This is a well composed poem. Good luck in the contest.
I might not cap the first word, since there is no period at the end.
