Excellent! This chapter is a rare lull between the Shelby storms!

I'm impressed at how you weave in world events--do you remember all the details or do you look them up?

It soon became apparent there would be war between them if THEY WERE left in the same department.

There was so much tension in the plant, [OMIT working there] [IT] wasn't a pleasant place to work

Thank you for the review and comments. Other than Christi wreck and the nonsense going on at my work nothing major happened. As to world events, I scanned through some journals, I kept in the early ninties and I did mention those things. As usual, I appreciate your helpeful suggestions, which I always use.

Hi Beth, I really enjoyed this look into your life, and I can tell by your writing that you have lived it full to the hilt. Neat that you still talk to your husband, Evan, and I am also sure that he hears you.
Also recognize how close your family stays to each other, these days that is becoming more rare. I retired from law enforcement thirteen years ago, and like you, I enjoyed it most of the time. Also had some egotistic jerks to deal with, some peers and some in management. Oh well, they're everywhere.
Cheers, irish

Thank you Irish. I appreciate you reviewing my story. Yes my family has stayed close. I miss my husband but sometime it seems he's still around. As to work, I like what I did but the enviroment was toxic at times. Like you say there are always people who spoil things by their attitudes.

In paragraph one believe cycle should be sickle.

In paragraph two believe delibertly should be deliberately.

In paragraph six believe / should be eliminated.

In paragraph seven believe Patton should be Patent.

Continues to be interesting read.

Good one, Beth. Yes, animosity is like cancer. It will destroy your entire workforce. As I once mentioned, I have experienced this line, and I always made it a point to have all my people in for a briefing on this subject. I used an old saying I learned from my mother, "If you can not say anything good about your co-worker, say nothing at all. Instead, discuss your personal feeling away from work; if you care about your work, return in the morning; if not, go somewhere else.
Simply as that.
I like this, and you reminded me of the times.
Out of sixes.

Thank you for the review. I've heard that saying before too. I lot of the employees did choose to go somethere esle. The enviroment was toxic. I liked the kind of work I did but I didn't like everyone trying ot make themselves look good by putting others down.
