This was an interesting chapter.
It sounds as though it was a happy,
tranquil time for the family and you
saw a lot of beauty and history on your
family outings. Well done, Beth. Nancy:)

Thank you Nancy. I'm glad you are sitll reading commenting. I'm still not being notified when you post. I told Tom, but he assured me that I was. I know that isn't true but it is hard to argue with the boss.

I am curious about Jimmy. I will be around to read that post. I do enjoy reading.

The one thing she really got upset about was when he insisted that she go with him to the shooting range and learn to shoot a gun. (omit that)

Another good chapter of family news and activities, Beth. I liked the snow in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. We once rode through the snow there on our motorcycle during one of our trips. Well done.

Another interesting chapter to your work. Was thinking about the 5 marriages, guys. I had a sister who played professional rhythm guitar for various celebrities I think would tie the fellow. She played with Spade Coolie, Roy Rogers, etc. All in California. The daughter, not sure about love, I think a lot of couples are like that today. Garttleburg is beautiful, in my opinion. Good one, Beth.

Thank you so much for the review and the stars. Carol won't be able to hold the marriage together. Their personalities are different and there needs to be love in a marriage. Amazingly, Jimmy will marry for the sixth time and this time, it will work. He will have some changes in his own life that will make a difference. I love living in Tennessee. It is beautiful state but Arkansas is pretty as well. The Ozarks are as beautiful as the Smokies but in a different way. They are so peaceful and green and not as humid as the Smokies. I've never met a mountian I didn't like. LOL

good morning, Beth... What a joy to read this section of your story. The memories for the most part except Carol and Glen) were pleasurable and fun. all the games and sightseeing trips... especially the Smokie Mountains as winter began were so vivid and enjoyable to imagine. Great job! Smiles, Carol

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I have enjoyed living in Tennessee because there is so much to see and do here. I grew up in Mississippi but I love living here and consider it home.

I've driven through the Smokes and Blue Ridge Mountains and when I was very young went to LOOK OUT MT. I remember it as being very beautiful.

I'm a few parts behind, Beth, but will go and read them. You have led such a colourful life, so many things have happened that this book will be thumbed through loads of times over the years by your family. I felt so sorry for Carol, Glen is quite a selfish man, isn't he? She did things she didn't want to do, for him, but it wasn't a case of give and take. I wish I could have seen that view on top of the mountain. It sounds beautiful. Can you put the video on here? I look forward to reading about Jimmy. :) Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandraxxx

Thank you so much Sandra. I always appreciate your reviews and lovely comments. Glen wasn't all bad but he was too immature to realise he wasn't respecting her needs and that he was being selfish demanding constant attention. He was also using the money she earned to complete his education, and buy all the many boy toys he felt he had to have. Carol shouldn't have married someone she wasn't truely in love with.

What a beautiful and creative way of recording your family history in a way that captures the readers imagination. It feels like folk art and is filled with nostalgia and meaningful memories. well done

Your stories are always such a joy to read, Beth. They are like getting a letter from a dear friend. I picture myself with a big mug of coffee and a handful of cookies and opening up the letter, reading it aloud to my dog, Serius. I would have spit coffee all over the letter when I read the part about Helen turning off the light in her bedroom and hearing laughter. I woulda peed the bed!

Here are a couple of thoughts as I read (If it were a letter, I'd have kept it to myself):

Carol admitted to herself that she couldn't say she really loved him, [Carol must have also admitted it to you ....]

she had made some out of town trips riding on the back of his motorcycle. ["out-of-town" needs hyphenation. The rule is that when two or more words are used to describe a noun (trips, here) and any one of them doesn't make sense by itself, they must be hyphenated.]

and there are many wild animal like deer and occasionally a bear, [... many wild ANIMALS like deer ...]

So enjoyable, Beth!

Thank you for a great review, I loved your comments. I will fix the hyphenation. It was an oversight. As for the comments about Carol sharing her feeling with me, she shared them with a diary, which years later, she allowed me to read. As to deer being wild, they aren't domesticated and are free to go whereever. They are definitely wild around where I live. If they seem a person, they flee. They're smart enough to know some like the taste of venison. The ones in Caves Cove are used to people, but they still keep a safe distance. The bears are definitely wild and dangerous. There are a lot of smaller animals as well.

Oh, my quarrel wasn't that deer or bears or any other non-domesticated animals aren't wild ... it was just that you didn't pluralize "animal" to "animals". But that was just minor, and, like the hyphenation, was an oversight.]

It goes on! Great show--I hope it never ends. Five divorces--I shudder to think how many more since 1992. I know a woman who married 12 times--the last two died of natural causes(?)

He'll only have one more and it will last, believe it or not. He's been married to her twenty-five years. Thanks for the great review.
