It is no wonder this poem was the contest winner. Great composition and meter and it delivers a clear message. Be kind, not so that you may gain an advantage, but just because you receive far more from giving than receiving.

I enjoyed this poem very much. The moral of the story is so wonderful, and it should be taught to every child no matter how old they are. Today's world is lacking in showing morals to our children. Patricia.

Of what should always be
but falls short of God's glory.
We struggle with being poor
yet we seem to have enough
to share with those most needy
with baskets of loafs and fish.

This was so much fun to read. It seems to have been modelled after familiar older tales but with a different twist. A very creative work with a wonderful theme - charity towards our fellow man.
It has rhythm and cadence. Enjoyed curly very much. I would read this to young children.

Lovely story and such a worthy winner of the contest. I think the real moral of your tale is in the last line. Knowing that you did right is at least as valuable, perhaps more so, than a tree producing golden apples.
