Poor Sam! At least it was just a shoulder wound. I'm glad that the dogs had taken down Rapier quickly. Rapier seemed like he was going to be a really bad hitman, but he ended up really being a pussycat overall. No errors found in this chapter that I could see.

Rapier was a mixed up man, and he really doesn't know who the real Max is. His childhood is responsible for the way he ended up. That is so common in real life, unfortunately. Thanks again, my friend! :)) Sandra xx

I'm waiting for the next part of Ryleigh!! I see you have posted a part of another book. Are the first books in that series published? I'll go and buy them if they are. I do like to start at the beginning. xxx

I bet a book could be made on Rapier himself. Villains tend to have more exciting backgrounds than some of the main characters. You wouldn't really have Batman without his eccentric villains.

Yes, Space Detective Dorf # 1 and 2 are both published on Amazon. The first book is a bit rough, but the second one should read better. Each book is a different case. I didn't post either on here because I wrote one at work back in 2017 while I was bored, and then finished # 2 while I was in the hospital back in June and July. To me, its a fun set of characters to mess around with, and I don't really have to be serious about which direction the story goes.

I've just bought the kindle version of the first book. I'll start reading it when I've finished the book I'm reading now. :))

I might work on a story with Rapier. I have another book screaming at me to start, so it might happen after that book. Now that you have suggested that, a story has started to formulate in my mind. Hmm. we'll see!

Cool! That would interesting to read. You could take a lot of different directions with that character.

Thanks for downloading the novel. I really haven't received any reviews on the books.

Sandra:

Anyone who shoots a dog should go to prison for life. I am so thankful that Sam only got shot in the shoulder and not in the heart. Rapier should have had a few slices of skin removed from his body. Anyway, it will be interesting to learn who betrayed Grant and told the whereabouts of his "private" island.

I totally agree with you, Jan. When I see the state of some animals our RSPA show us when they bring them into be cared for, it breaks my heart that most get away with it. Unless the owner chips them, there is no way to find the culprit. The ones they do find, are not punished enough.
Thank you for another lovely chapter, my friend, I'm glad you enjoued it (apart from poor Sam. ) Warm hugs, Sandra xxx

Glad that this evil person was caught...the dogs are so protective of their master. What should they do with a mother that causes horrible problems for her son? What is she thinking anyway?

With a mother like Marilyn, ( who is being called Cruella by some readers! Lol) she should be locked up and the key thrown away!

Thank you so much, Rosemary, for this lovely review. I'm pleased you enjoyed reading it. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

It would help if you forgave me for running out of six so early. I have taken on a few new readers and spending more time reading their work as well. I love your story and waiting for wedding bells, but things need to get solved; first, I suppose.
Good one, Sandy. When will your children's book be out? I wish to get one or two for great grand kids.

Thank you so much, Chuck for reading this part. Yes, romance and wedding bells are looking more likely in the next part. (Though you won't think so to start with!) My children's book is out now, and I'm so pleased with it. I've had some nice remarks on here about it, and Robyn Corum put a lovely review on Amazon after she bought her grandchildren one. I hope your like it. Thank you, dear friend. Lots of love, Sandy. xxxx

Hello Sandra,
It looks like the story has come to most satisfactory conclusion, with Rapier subdued and everyone safe (even Sam).
Peter was up to the challenge, with a lot of help from Sam and Ben.
I guess the SAS boys were unnecessary after all.

After Marilyn and Colin are dealt with, the story can revert back to Tania and Grant, maybe even Monica and Reg. :)

The snitch? Well, by process of elimination, there aren't many choices.
I think it's....

Well done!
Best wishes.
Robert

Hi, Robert, a few problems to iron out, but we are heading homeward now. (I think I've said that too many times. This book was only going to have 50,000 words, it's up to 62,000 now. I have to rein it in. I think everyone thinks they know who the snitch is.
We will see if you are all right. Hmm.

Thank you so much for the lovely review, my friend, and the golden sixth star. I really appreciate them. Warm hugs. Have a lovely day. :)) Sandra xxx

''What's up, boys?' (His answer was deep rumbling growls.)' This is very telling. Maybe, (The dogs hairs stood upright as they bared their teeth and growled.)

Hope you are alright and thank you for sharing.

Hi Jackie, thank you so much for reading this part. I loved your suggestion and have used it! I'm fine, how are you? Your story stopped and never finished, or did I miss the ending? Stay safe and well, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I am trying to get some more Fanstory money to post the rest lol. Have not been well and not done many reviews of late. Hopefully I will start posting the last few remaining chapters soon. I have decided to make this a trilogy as I heard publishers like a three book deal.

Because of Rapier's fear of the German Shepherd dogs, Ben and Sam, his
actions were stymied. The dogs were growling and baring their teeth which indicated to Peter that some thing was amiss. He warned the women to stay in the house as he began to investigate. Sure enough, when he commanded the dogs forward all hell broke loose and Rapier was caught. Further information is forthcoming as the story flows.

I can't get over how easily you draw the reader in, to the point they feel that they're an observer at the scene. When Rapier was discovered by the dogs, I thought he would shoot them, but as Peter pointed out, if one was injured, the other would probably have ripped him to shreds. My son had an ex-police dog, and I will never forget how quickly she shot across the room and grabbed the arm of one of his friends who had picked up Richard's BB gun. Fortunately, he didn't hurt him because he was wearing a padded jacket, but she wouldn't let go until the boy dropped the gun.

Yet another terrific chapter that has me eagerly waiting for the next!

Thank you so much, Alexis. You have no idea how much I appreciate your reviews. Considering what I was like as an author a few years ago when we first 'met' on here, your comments really make my day. Thank you also for the lovely sixth star, I really appreciated that. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx
