Excellent entry for the Minute contest.

Great imagery and alliteration. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

I've always heard it to rhyme with 'dune.' It doesn't matter. A lovely Minute poem. I think we're all suffering from the heat these days with no rain in sight. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Yvonne. I am dreading Arkansas weather. We have stopped overnight in Knoxville and get into Brinkley tomorrow afternoon? those Delta skeeters are just waiting for us? there are several rice fields around. Thanks for the lovely review.

If you make it to Brinkley tomorrow, you're just about home, aren't you. Be prepared for the heat. The heat index today was 103!

My what a great way to describe a thunder storm as a
This wrenching, drenching twisting storm.

The author's words make clear the wildness of a storm. The poem
flows and connects well. I also like how the author put sound into
these words! The artwork goes well with the words of this poem.

This minute poem meets all the requirements of the form, efficiently and effectively.

The piece provides a sensory rich reading experience that has the reader right there in the eye of the storm.being described.

Well done.

This writing and matching picture so aptly describes the violent weather we have been experiencing for a few years now and excollating. Mother nature gone insane? I believer we are nearing end times. Well done Melissa. Blessings, Barbara

I really like this minute poem! Especially because we are in the midst of a series of thunderstorms right now! The remnants of the hurricane is coming up the coast tomorrow. So - more stormy weather! This is perfect for the contest.

Hello June. Virginia is having to deal with Elsa as we speak and the heavy rain is ok since the winds are only 10 mph. Thanks so very much for the lovely review, June. Stay safe tomorrow!

For a minute you had me going on. I was ready to take out my umbrella, Melissa. :) That's a beautiful if not deadly picture you got there. Elsa at your doorstep, bring wind and havoc to you town? Take care and hide in the smallest room in the house. This is a very good offering for the Minute Contest. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Jose. Yes, Elsa is over my house as we speak with heavy rains, but the winds are only 10 mph, so no worries there. I appreciate your comments on this Minute form. :)

To me 'strewn' would rhyme with balloon, or doubloon, or rigamatoon. Ok, I made the last one up.

Either way, I like this piece, it makes use of good alliterations and does a good job personifying the tornado. Good work and good luck in the contest. Later daze.

I love the word rigamatoon!! If you add a definition to it, I will put it in a poem ;). Thanks so much for your lovely review!!

Oh, Melissa, your word choices for this piece are extraordinary. I'm truly amazed at the sheer number of your rhythmic images--like disheveled drops, jagged rain, and wild whirlwind cries to mention a few.
This piece is so different from your lovely simple piece about life's blessing. The style is complex with intricate images. I actually love them both. You may have a second winner here. I'll have to be watching the leader board for this one as well. I bet this one does better, but I don't know which one is my favorite. You are just a gifted writer and can do it all.

Oh Debbie. You encourage me so!! Thank you for your comments on this Minute poem. This form was the first one where I learned to write in meter. I always hold my breath when I write a Minute until I make sure of all the points. We drove in rain today, on the edge of Tropical Storm Elsa, and the rain was so hard it looked jagged to me? hence the inspiration. So delighted you liked it!! Hugs!
