Oh, the pain of raising children in a society such as we have. I can see much of this unfold into memories of my own. Good one Beth. Keep it coming. Sorry, out of six. I will upgrade this weekend.

Thank you Chuck. I assumed your children were all perfect until you told me you had to spend of lot money buying a judge. LOL Of course, I've never seen a perfect kid, and preacher's kids usually go out of their way to prove they aren't perfect.

The reason why preacher's kids are so mean is they play with the deacon's kids. LOL.

Another interesting segment to yours and your family's lives. Good reading as usual. Keep up the good work. Just sad none of the relationships except Don and Kimberly seemed to be working out.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. My relationship worked out for sixty-one years. It wasn't to be so easy for my children. They were always having their hearts broken. Since I never had mine broken, I had to suffer along with them.

A great way to help your children understand the relationship you had with your deceased husband. Divorce is always difficult and it sounds like your family was close and had other things going on besides the divorce. I believe these names would make more sense to me if I had started at the beginning. But this is a wonderful idea to write the memories.

Thank you so much for reading this and for your comments. I realize the names don't mean much to you getting into this story so late. One thing you will soon learn as you are on this site. almost no one gives less that five start unless there are extensive errors that need correcting. If some give you a six star rating as someone just did me, the the four star erases the six and put that person rating back to only five. Only new people go by the fanstory rating guide and give two, three and four stars.
I started writing this story about when I was dating in high school and now my four children all grown. Don;t feel obligated to read it unless you want to.

What a complicated mess you and your husband seem to be constantly dealing with, Beth. The part about Carol admitting how she felt about her marriage to Glen was sad and very telling as to why their relationship didn't last. You did a great job including the other events happening with the other children. This is one of your best chapters. I enjoyed reading it, though it was poignant. I will return to find out how things get settled--if they ever do.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much Jan. I really appreciate this six star review and all your comments. As for as everything being settled, my husband used to say, there is never a time when all your ducks are in a row. Some good things happen like a good vacation trip and Don finishing his chiropractic training, but in this chapter Connie and Carol were having problems. Christi is one who has a lot of problems, but not in this chapter. Over time, most problem will be solved while others are popping up. That's what make life interesting.

I think in relational happening to one's children, we can't help but be upset for them, what hurts them, hurts us, we spend a great deal of their lives protecting and it's hard to withdraw and let them handle it, but I guess we must. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy, I appreciate the great review. As parent, we hate to see our children in pain and we want to fix it but I did learn over time to let them learn to deal with things themselves like we had to. About the only thing I do now is pray for them.

Another good chapter on the family, Beth

You gotta watch those Carol's...they think they have to take care of everyone and also be responsible for things that they shouldn't be...I speak from experience!

Smiles, Carol

I hear you Carol. It's all my fault for naming her that. Those Carol make great people to have in your life though.

Since Carol didn't get a lawyer she's going to end up paying for Glen's mistakes until she wises up. Thank you for sharing.

I was aware that she was likely talking behind my back as well. (you can omit 'that')

Thank for the review and comments. Yes Carol wouldn't listen to us. She had to know how unfair it was but it was what she insisted on doing. Carol is the caretaker type and she allows people to do that to her. Glen had no credit. Everything was in her name. It what she wanted to do. Glen next three wives probably weren't so generous.

What a rough time for all of you! But I feel especially sorry for Carol. What an admirable character to feel she needed to stick with Glen for such a long time and even still wanted to support him after the divorce! Most people get vindictive during a divorce. I suppose there are friendlier ones. I hope they both remarried.

settled on and a little town in the North Carolina mountains, (remove "and")

Thank you for the review and comments and for noticing the wayward "and". Actually Glen remarried three times and now he is living with someone he isn't married to. Carol has never remarried, but I think she is happy.

I'm glad Carol is happy. It sounds like those ten years were very hard for her.
