What a scream! I did listen to your voice download, and you did a great job of it.

Yes and you sure pulled one over on this irksome telemarketer. LOL

Just one little inconsistency with the name

Randy... Randall Ryleigh

Don't leave the city, Mr. Reileigh.

Wishing you great luck with the Committee. This is most entertaining. :))

    Hi Gloria!
I'm glad you enjoyed reading (listening) to it as much as I enjoyed writing it. And THANK you for the catch. I'll go fix that now!
    Blessings,
    Deb

Wickedly clever--brilliant idea--I may adapt it--I heard of a case where they told the caller (soliciting on behalf of a prominent bank in town) that the man of the house had just died--the bank sent flowers! This is priceless! A contender for sure.

LOL! No way! OMGosh, that's rich.
I have a friend with a 40-year-old mentally impaired son. He lives with her and has the ability to repeat only a few phrases and sing 23 songs. Whenever the telemarketer asks for the 'man of the house, she gives the phone to him. He usually starts the conversation with, "Oh, hello, sweetheart! How a' you? How a' you don'?{ And she lets him talk until he loses interest, usually several minutes after the telemarketer has hung up! And, of course, he loves getting to talk on the phone, so it's a win-win! lol
    Thanks for the kind words.
    Blessings,
    Deb

Haha, I agree, Deb. They can be so annoying. Yes, they are doing their job, but it is the way they are doing it. Your contest entry reads well. I kept reading on and on as the plot thickened. Emil really had the telemarketer believing him. That was the funny part. Then you explained it more with the discussion about the possible murder. Your lines are formatted well, there's smooth flow, and great details.
Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you, Jan. I recorded it, using a VERY Brooklyn accent for the poor telemarketer and a squeaky southern girl accent for Tom's/Emil's friend, but couldn't get it to upload. I guess this old dog needs to keep learning. lol
Thanks so much for the kind words and your time. Both are much appreciated.
