I really enjoyed reading this, Beth, especially the mention of the trips through Virginia and along the Blue Ridge Mountains. We did this trip on our motorcycle one year, and rode to the Wall of Honour in Washington. We also took our motorhome along the West Coast Highway, on our way to Arizona one year. Fond memories.

    Thank you Judy. IYou were brave to do it by motorcycle, but that had to be a wonderful adventure. I love the Blue Ridge parkway and it is a favorite of cyclists. We traveled a lot and I do have fond memories;

I can remember when Rebecca was first pregnant with Zach, and we were excited at the time, I was so "over the moon" that I wrote a song, recorded in the studio, and had graphics done, and presented a copy to everyone, I called it "Wonderful boy", not very imaginative but at least his very own recording. Thanks for sharing Beth. Blessings, well done, blessings Roy

What a wonderful thing to do. I hope Zach is pleased with his song. Thank you for a great review and for noticing the misspelling.

You and Evan were always so good budgeting for the family needs, I wonder why Don and Kimberly and Christi never followed your good example. It's exciting to have a grandchild but from you mentioned before having children and financial stress often accompanies the stress of parenting. I'm sure you'll let us know.
I'm so glad that you and Evan got to enjoy a quiet vacation in DC together! I remember your stories about your early vacations and how you had to plan them or else it got too stressful.

Thank you for the review and comments, Helen. I think Carol did to much for the twins and they didn't learn to manage money at all. They learned to depend on her and they still do. Carol and Connie learned but they didn't. I take the responsibility because I worked too many long hours when they were small and didn't teach them. No one taught Evan and I either, but we learned the hard way. We made a lot of mistakes when we first got married. We got tired of being broke and having creditors calling.

I got a real kick out of this because of your honesty about Connie taking the classes. Also, about Kimberly's pregnancy. She must have been quite excited to tell everyone so early.
I'm glad you got to see the memorials in Washington, D.C. We were there for the Pentagon memorial and 9/11 which was heartbreaking. Our son lived in Alexandria, Virginia and took us to see everything.
Yes, the holidays are exhausting and different every year. But, you show that live does go on,
Great job.
Enjoyed it a lot.
Marie

Thank you so much for another delightful review and comments. There is a lot to see in Washington. I've been there three or four times but their is a lot left to see. I try to tell the story as honestly as possible. If I get my facts wrong my children will let me know.

When my mom found out one of my son's and his wife were expecting, she called me. I already knew about the upcoming baby. Her comment was, "We need to discuss this new baby." Jeff and Crystal couldn't afford the baby and Mom and I both knew it. I told Mom, "If we all waited until we could afford a baby, there would be no children." Her comment, "I guess you're right." LOL Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Barbara. I think you are right about never any children if people waited until they could afford them. Somehow we manage and try not to focus on the expense. I appreciate the review and comments.

A reflection of the moderately mundane. It is conversational and reads much like a journal. I like the fact that it neither sensationalizes nor understates the concerns that come with living. The story moves at a good pace. The wording keeps it warm and personal. I do not feel any bumps in the narrative. The mood and message are consistent.

I have no suggestions for this work.

Thanks for sharing a good read.

Thank you for reading my chapter and for the nice review. It is to some extent like a journal and I realize someone who hasn't read many of the chapters would not be likely to find it that interesting. Still I'm always pleased when a new reader drops by.

You are welcome. And it is interesting, just in a much more laid back way than most.

You did a good job, Beth. I enjoyed reading this chapter. I like the way it is organized. Your words/lines flow smoothly with great details. I like reading about how all the family members are doing plus the bit of current event at the time. I know what you mean about being too tired to enjoy Christmas on the day. Also, the leftovers from Thanksgiving and Christmas are better the next day.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

interesing news.

Now, Beth, you and I both know our children don't wait for things like we think they should... they have a different timetable than us. I am so glad you had that enjoyable trip...peaceful and a nice memory.

Smiles, Carol

Thank you Carol. I appreciate you reading my story. I guess we were lucky they waited until Don at lease finished his College. It would still be a long time before he would have a practice with enough patients to make a living.
