Gypsy Blue
With you image of trees, and the dense fog;
makes your AMERICAN CINQUAIN, a very entry for the contest.

thick and wet in silence
witness of life's inequities --
in tears

To someone on the road on a desperate search for work, the injustice of our world is very real, and impossible to overlook.

I'm always happy to see you enter these site contests! Thank you for telling us about the background of the cinquain!
Your poem describes the feeling of being destitute in spirit very well starting from the external stimulus of the gray morning, taking us into the persons frame of mind and showing us the effect as tears which echo the moisture of the fog. Best wishes in the contest!

Another nice use of imagery. The words are combined in interesting ways. The message is unmistakable.

I have no suggestions.

Thanks for sharing. I was immediately inspired to write this.

In the
shadows of night
nature wets earth's hankie
in rememberance of mankind's
dark deeds.
