Well, this works well in 50 words or less. I find it much harder to use fewer words than to write a 500-word story. Do you? anyway, you did a good job in placing your character from one bad situation to another.

My first reaction to waking up under a tree was, 'this is truly horrible.' But I laughed at the pack of wolves. I'm not sadistic. The wolves were so unexpected and so bad, leaving no possible way out, that I laughed at my shock. This story is pure horror.

Yep, that would do it ... a pack of wolves showing up. That could really happen too. I can only imagine the horror. Great imagery! Well-chosen photo. And, a great contest entry :)

Well, that is that! What a great ending. The crazy thing is that I'm laughing. You led us to believe that he was going to freeze to death, which would have been painless. But the end was truly horrible.
