I'll have to say that I laughed hysterically when I read this post. We've had an on-going battle with squirrels for years and here I was thinking, "Finally, here's a solution!" I laughed so hard that my husband came in to see what was so funny. You made my day. Thanks.

As a fellow with a backyard full of oak trees, I can commiserate with the squirrel dilemma. Very nice bit of humor here.
Steve Allen used to say that humor is rooted in the unexpected i.e, Roses are red, Violets are blue. You think this will rhyme, but it won't.
The college bit is good, but 'the bastard' is perfectly placed and timed.

I love reading true stories, and I loved this one. I was entertained because I could relate as I'm always trying out different ways to keep squirrels out of my birdfeeders. Nothing has worked yet, but then I don't have a college degree. Loved your mom's comments at the end.

This story is hilarious. I have a friend who had the same problem. I think he finally put some old CD's on the line to discourage them. Not sure if they worked or not. Good luck.

Because I have the same problem of squirrels robbing my feeder, I really like your story. Son's idea seemed plausible, but some squirrels are indeed too smart. Well told in only 100 words. Rod
