Hello Paul,
Oh yes, we remember Patrick McKee with 'himself' attending his own wake in the bar with all his friends. Such a delight....and the saga continues in this ditty with said Patrick petitioning God to get into Heaven. Another laugh-out-loud poem with a delicious array of humorous lines. You have a magical sense of comedic timing, Paul!
This is too funny and very welcome on a late Saturday morning :)).
Patrick should take a long inhale, while he waits for entry beyond those Pearly Gates...

A more sober wakeup call, I cannot imagine. Many of us, the living, live our lives without regard that there are consequences for our actions. Some of us act as though there is a place in heaven that is guaranteed and we need not worry. We act as if there is someone up there who will argue on our behalf and we can rest assured that it will work. Wake up and smell the coffee, it is burning. Can you feel the heat?

Seriously, congratulation on a wonderful achievement. We come up for fifty in a couple of years, we did however have a ten year break along the way. Back to the poem.

Yes, I remember Patrick and his wake. I wasn't impressed with him or his friends. Poem was good, though. This is hysterical! Iove the part where his brother has been sleeping with his wife and they are waiting for life insurance. Very well written and creative.
