This No-restrictions poem, Late Autumn Song, captures sights and sounds from this buffering time between burgeoning life and the dead of winter. Nice.

I enjoyed this rhyming poem very much. The rhymes are solid, and the story is interesting. I was also very drawn to the illustration with its clear "between major seasons" feel about it. Good luck in the contest.

The lyrical nature of your poem complements beautifully the words you use to describe autumn's attraction. You have used senses and emotions to enhance the verbal picture: doleful trill of Nature's flute; frosty rim of the birdbath; melancholy haunting note, Winter's wrath. Beautifully evocative of the scene that precedes cold, silent winter.

Your lyrical poem is excellent in every respect--skillfully and creatively composed--with good rhyme and meter and a vividly descriptive blend of literal and figurative languge. Lovely celebration of fall!

I found this poem to be absolutely beautiful, full of imagery and sensory clues to make the experience come alive. I especially loved this verse:
"It's in the whistle of the wind,
the doleful trill of Nature's flute
played wistfully across the roofs,
'tween limbs of trees, a treble toot."

I hope it does well in this contest. I really enjoyed it. MM

A very striking image, perfect choice! And your poem is well crafted with its smooth rhyme and metre flowing well. The musical theme running throughout is really well done too, so I send good wishes for your entry.

This is a good one. I like the title, and you have done a very good job with the rhyme and meter. "Nature's flute" is a term that I have not run into before.

A poem about birds singing and then they subside because winter is on its way. I love the song of a wren in the spring. They traveled between our homes when my wonderful neighbor was still alive.
