Thi is an excellent poem for the contest. You should do well with the homage you paid to owls. They are indeed mysterious creatures that want nothing more than their daily fare. Well done.

I was driving home from work one night and a white owl flew in front of my car and flew to a branch of a tree, I felt honored as it sat there on the branch at an angle from car. It stayed there for about 2 minutes just communing with me. It was lovely.

First, love a poem that rhymes. Poetry is not my strong suit so I admire those who are poets. Also appreciate the positive tone of this poem. Others I read were not so positive. The owl is indeed a stately bird to be admired. Great job!

This is a lovely poem. Your rhyme scheme is excellent and the rhythm is as well. Your well chosen words paint a vivid picture of the events. I have always liked owls and find them quite majestic. It is amazing that they are silent fliers and they also mate for life. Good luck in the contest.
