Good choices, both, for any times of sadness or loneliness. You choose well. They always bring back memories and the lyrics were always meaningful. We had the best music in our youth! Many thanks gif your post.

I too was an enthusiastic fan of the Brisish Invasion groups, including Gerry and the Pacemakers. I can't remember one group I didn't like.
You chose two good ones for this piece.

Another one of my countrymen who wrote "Ferry across the Mersey" I was born in Liverpool, England, as were the Beatles, Gerry Marsden, Cilla Black, and it must have been God's intention that we were all born there around the same time, I've returned several times to the "Capital of Ireland" my beautiful relatives are a bit scattered now, dad was a Welshman, mum an Anglo-Saxon, but yet born in North Wales. Well done, ("You'll never walk alone" is Liverpool City soccer team's theme song, sung by supporters in those games, Liverpool people are the salt of the Earth.) blessings Roy

Hello Sal.

You picked a good one with this song. I really liked their style, which was referred to as Merseybeat. Gerry Marsden died recently. When I read about it, I became a little melancholy.

Many of the British invasion tunes are played at Vietnam veterans funerals. One of the most played is "Reflections of My Life" by Marmalade.

Now your talking sally Gerry and The Pacemakers, a beautiful hypnotic voice that once you have heard never forget. You'll never walk alone is timeless clastic that has been song by many artists and it holds a special place in the hearts of Liverpool football fans after 96 fans lost there lives at the Hillsborough disaster of 1989.
